Just a Game

Thought I would post another poem, just for the hell of it. Comment, ignore, whatever.

Dancing in carnage,
Blades and bullets from your fists,
The blood of your enemies,
Bursts forth in a mist,
At home with horror,
Your thirst seen as a gift,
Smiling when your axeblade,
Turns a face into a rift,
Never worried about the law,
Never worried about arrest,
Body counts a rising,
But you see it as a test,
And all you dream about at night,
When your done and close your eyes,
Is how you move kill and fight,
With no concern about how you die.

Well I like heavy metal , and that inspires the style of pretty much everything I do. But the idea for this one came to me when I was thinking about the amount of computer game sprites that your average gamer churns through in a day.
Buddy of mine showed me a game called Space Marine the other day. If you want destruction...well thats about the pinnacle. Made me think about how it would be if they were sentient.

Well now, I had a look at your link and your screen shots. Seems like you put a lot of work in... I love the detail you put into the second shot, the city scape. Looks gorgeous.

That said, I can't say that I appreciate your ethos where gaming is concerned. I think about what it would be like if the sprites were sentient, but I personally LIKE the chaos, the murder, the elbow deep in death element of computer gaming. I am also a pretty well adjusted human being, who knows right and wrong and values life above all other considerations.

That said , I miss Final Fantasy seven, and wish they would quit messing around and make that game again with extra pretty added. Scripts and story are important, but I also get peeved when I slash a dude with a sword and he stubbornly refuses to go to pieces.

I totally think being able to slash it up is awesome, I just need depth or its pointless. The storyline is the hardest part of a game, after that's complete, the rest of it is easy including hacking and slashing.
