very nice! I was hoping for such a large turnout! I hope it swells tenfold!!!

unfortunately I'm in southwest oklahoma & of course, no savings and can't afford to miss work so I'll have to do what I can from here. . . .

With that being said, lets see more people flagging this!!

Lets also get more campaigning for more protesters to assemble, and as previously mentioned, lets get as many requests to mainstream news sites & also make sure to contact your local news company to make them aware! Maybe people can get it on their local news stations since MSM won't report the facts without mis/disinformation. . . .

Flagged !! too bad I can only flag it once!!

I hope many people show up and stay the course.
Tenacity is going to be required to make the breakthrough.

PERSIST AND PREVAIL.

It is time to finally level the playing feild. No more rich wealth elites well we are barely making it. There is a lot of work to be done but maybe this the first step. I am sick of being so darn poor and I bet a lot of people are! Wall street caused the first great depression and has their part in this depression too.

If anyone is wanting to get involved, start a protest in their state or perhaps try to find others to travel to the protests with, you can go to www.WHATIS-THEPLAN.org follow the instructions on how to surf the net anonymously if you're not doing so already!

A rose by any other name, or in this case a manure pile. I am sorry, but you will never convince me to work hard to support those unwilling to work.

Why would you have to work hard to support someone else?

Socialism is worker ran businesses, cooperatives/collectives. When you work at a cooperative/collective you earn from the profits instead of a wage. You give your earnings to no one. If the means of production are available all it takes to produce what we need is labour, which there is no shortage of. The only shortage we have is the means to produce, because they are privately owned, and often go unused because they don't make the private owner any profit. When the economy goes bad the means to produce go into mothballs, 'jobs' are lost, yet the labour to produce is in abundance, and people go hungry.

Technological capacity to produce enough to satisfy everyone's needs already exists globally and has done so for many decades. Yet needs continue to remain unmet on a massive scale. Why? Quite simply because scarcity is a functional requirement of capitalism itself.

www.worldsocialism.org...

You must think socialism is government handouts? Socialism doesn't even require government. You can't have government handouts without government. It has nothing to do with that whatsoever mate.

Anarchism is stateless socialism, Bakunin

If you're wondering why Bakunin is so important...

Mikhail Alexandrovich Bakunin (Russian: Михаи́л Алекса́ндрович Баку́нин, IPA: [mʲɪxɐˈil ˌbaˈkunʲin]; 30 May [O.S. 18 May] 1814–1 July 1876) was a well-known Russian revolutionary and theorist of collectivist anarchism. He has also often been called the father of anarchist theory in general...

secure.wikimedia.org...

Collective Anarchism is a form of worker organized socialism through trade unions.

Anarchists were socialists who were apposed to the state system. Socialism requires no state system, and is the preferred economic model for the majority of Anarchists.

So once again socialism is 'the workers ownership of the means of production', not government handouts, national health care etc.

Ok, they go unused because there is no profit. Why no profit? Most likely because no one is buying the product. What good does it do to produce a product no one is buying? This is why workers don't make good owners. You can't just produce something and hope to get paid. You have to produce a good or service someone else wants. If they don't want it, they won't buy it, you still go hungry but now you have wasted time and resources. You advocate workers owning the means of production. I have to ask, have you met the "workers"? I mean seriously, most of them don't want the responsibility of having to decide things. Most of them want to do as little as possible, then they want to go and turn on the idiot box preferably with some form of alcohol or drug. These people let american idol distract them from reality. I am sorry, I wish the old style "American spirit" would return. It is dead or at least fading away. Many people prefer their slavery.

It looks like operation Occupy Wall Street was a huge success. I didn't think it would turn out that well, but it did.
Check out thisvideo/ story from CNN. The video is great, and the police look like asses. It really shows where their loyalty lies, not with the people, but with the corporate elite.
It's a good reminder that the police aren't there to protect you. They're there to protect their corporate overlords.(yay for me, I got to use all three versions of "there" in a single sentence)

Wow...you would expect this to be on the front web page of news sites but Fox news has NOTHING. Not even a little, hidden mention of it. Absolutely pathetic. They are trying to downplay it like it isn't happening.

Added: CNN, NOTHING, MSNBC, NOTHING. This is just unbelievable. It absolutely has to be orchestrated. For this to be treated like it's a non-event, utilizing hundreds of cops, is just pathetic. I'm convinced, they are all under somebody else's control. So sad our media has come to this.

What hive mentality?

Where do you guys get this from?

Cooperatives are not hives, they are simply worker ran companies. All it does is cut out the private owner, thus making all the workers private owners.

Why is this so hard to understand? Oh I know, years of state conditioning to support something that is not in your best interest.

Hive mentality, have you looked around yourself? We have created the hive mentality through the media. There was a time when people had real personalities and were unique, nowadays most people are clones of what the media dictates is normal. This thread is a good example, all the same nonsense comes out spouting mostly crap born out of cold war propaganda.

You're so wrapped up in this system, you can't even see the reality of it.

You're surprised?

A wise man told me long ago...take everything that you see on the news with a grain of salt.

The revolution will not be televised

S&F OP!

I watched some of the live stream today. My hopes echo many of the others on this thread. I truly hope it will be peaceful and will actually get some national attention. Just checked Fox and still nothing on there, nothing on Drudge, CNN has an article up.

If I wasn't from the midwest, I'd stop by myself to show support or at least bring some water or food out there. I have a feeling the police will change their overall attitude if this lasts through Monday.

Also, I found this link about Bloomberg talking about possible riots...go figure.

GO FIGURE! CNN would have to put a twist on the story just like everything else...arab's influenced us. Get a life CNN obviously your a bunch of retards

And putting it in "Tech" no less. What a bunch of useless morons. WTF does a protest have to do with "Tech"? Social Issues? Maybe, Tech, not so much. They are all burying the story when it should be front page.

I would have thought by now someone would have pointed out the fact that it's a Saturday...

Wouldn't this have been more effective on a weekday? Exactly what are they shutting down? And last question: How much you wanna bet that come Monday morning the police will have cleared the last of them out?

Please educate yourself before you comment on the event. This is going to be an OCCUPATION of Wall Street in the same vein as Tahrir Square and other countries of the recent Middle-East uprisings. This is NOT a one-day event, this is semi-permanent until demands are met to GET CORPORATE MONEY OUT OF POLITICS. Which is to say, repealing corporate personhood, campaign finance reform (via public funding of elections rather than rich guys/businesses funding and controlling our electoral process and thus out government).

This is better to START on a weekend because more people can make it to an initial showing to kick the whole thing off. This can only grow and you can bet your a** the police wont be able to clear this one out.

I'm not sure from what sentiments your questions come from, if it's support but pessimism, then you have nothing to worry about. If it's a position of being anti-activist/anti-liberal/anti-protest and FOR the police/establishment, then your good ol' boy buddies aren't gonna win. Either way, I'm not sure you have a full grasp on what this could (and likely will) become.

Come to think of it now, isn't it interesting that Bloomberg would talk about jobs and possible riots right before this begins. I'm probably reading to much into this, but wouldn't that be a great thing to do before a peaceful protest to sway public opinion about the protestors?

Sure they might be peaceful, but Bloomberg said there could be riots so they must be out there to do harm. /sarcasm

Very interested to see how this plays out, and hoping this thread will be the top story through the weekend and the beginning of the work week.

I am watching the live stream and I fully expect that the NYPD will be sending in the troops to crack heads of protestors very early on Sunday morning. I hope I am wrong but I am thinking the banksters will want that street clear by Monday morning.
