You have no idea how many groups have their hands in the pot regarding this protest.

You have the communist
You have the socialist unions.
You have the Mexican revolutionaries.
You have the che Guevara people.
You have the anarchist.

All of them stirred up in one little pot.

edit on 17-9-2011 by Mr Tranny because: (no reason given)

I think that about sums them up. Seems like they want to protest just to protest. They want to kick out capitalism and replace it with socialism, communism, or anarchy. I don't think they're a very bright bunch. You don't have the right to free speech in China, Cuba, or North Korea. Is that really what they want?

None of those are socialist or anarchist...

... And I wouldn't exactly call China communist anymore.

In capitalism we don't have the basic right to have food, water, and shelter; people from socialist countries probably find that aspect of our system laughable.

Most of these people aren't professed communists either... many are just attaching that label to them based on one or two ideas they have expressed on politics, which is closed-minded nonsense to say the least. Just because someone likes the idea of public healthcare and ensuring everyone has a home and all children have food doesn't mean they want an unelected government manipulating the distribution of wealth or regimenting the business world. There are aspects of socialism/communism that our current system could benefit from, don't let the anti-commie rhetoric take over your logical thinking and get you to refuse to acknowledge that blatant truth.

P.s. don't bother calling me some crazy leftist commie or w/e, your words will fall to the floor; I reject the entire political spectrum because it seems to suggest that we need skewed, polluted business structures to survive.

Oh, thought you were referring to the protesters. Yes, all those countries I named are socialist. Capitalist is what our country has become. Its suppose to be a Republic.

For what its worth, i follow USDOR on Twitter and have had several exchanges with whomever is running the account. The majority of what they write is very libertarian, almost anarchistic. Right up my alley.

Being a working stiff, i have neglected my twitter and missed the USDOR event. Regardless, I went to a wedding today and could not rage very much.

Funny how all the groups must be all commies, socialists, blah blah against Wall Street and the Corporate parasites.

Remind me again who Obama has on his team the most?

Would that not be former Wall Streeters?

So, what does that make Obama if he is on the side of the Wall Streeters, and the groups in this day of rage are against Wall Streeters?

I would love to see some demographics of the far-less-than 20,000 Adbusters was anticipating. I looked in on the "protest" a couple of times today. The "General Assembly" was led by inarticulate, droning bores. The was no coherent agenda posed, nothing that would stoke a fire in anyone's belly. OK, a few hundred people with no true agenda wandering about in an area that doesn't conduct the business they're protesting for another forty-eight hours or so...that's when the rubber would meet the road, not a convenient Saturday. Looks like when the cell/laptop/camera batteries started dying, so has the interest....nothing accomplished...again.

I wish some of my ideas would take off because I am very good at articulating what the people would want.
What needs to happen is a new written declaration of independence that should be presented to Washington DC.

Yeah.. but I think that's more because those old soviet era posters have become classic. They are very stylized. It's safe to assume there is no ulterior meaning, just a lack of good forethought.

A bunch of tired, overweight campers will stroll to the bull on wall street. Arrange a nice BBQ. Sing some well chosen songs about freedom. Exchange some dark oaths to fight the TPTB, pay their yearly Alex Jones tax and then pack up and go home.

This is US. The generation that fought the likes of Nixon and LBJ are long gone.

Nothing new here folks...move along

Your insults and sarcasm aren't welcome here. America has came from English rule to the one of the greatest powers of the world in under 300 years. If i were you i wouldnt under estimate the power of the American people. How dare you use stereotypes to predict the out come of our future. I'm guessing your British so let's take a look at your situation. Thousands of people looting and burning locally owned business' acting like there "revolting" when there actually only hurting ma and pa's Corner shop.

What would we declare our Independence from?

I would support independence from the government/central bank and all its tentacles... But then why would we present them with anything

This is a sad day for true freedom.
For years ive been waiting for the revolution.
Now you say they are too effin programmed to start one?
Whatll it take?
The PTB dont even have to take all the guns....theres no one out there who would resort to such a thing a violent revolution anymore.
Ho Chi Mhin spent his whole life trying to unify vietnam.
The goal was not yet reached at the time of his death.
But even after eight years in a french prison he returned to the fight.
Where is the dedication of such a man in these days?
Ron Paul perhaps.....there are still a few....but by and large people have a fear of living up to their moral standards if the rest of society is not.
Courage of conviction seems rare in the western world these days.
I aplaud thjese youngsters.
They are standing for freedom, even though they have little idea of what that actually means.
We need these kids, we need their fresh enthuisiasm,, their naivete their energy.
Instead of putting them down we should be seeking them out and taking them under our wing....these are the potential leaders of tomorrow we are looking at.
Sure they are immature, thats why they need us!Someone has to recognize this potential, and cultivate it.

What they fail to acknowledge, however, is both the ability and inclination of the right to simply shoot the lot of them, and then go back to what it was doing.

Well……. Wouldn’t shooting them be the logical thing to do?

No. Shooting them would be the psychopathic thing to do.

Personally, I think the energy of those kids would be better spent on setting up more facilities like this:-

What Anonymous don't realise is that more than anything else, protest does one very bad thing. It sends the people you're protesting against, the message that you actually think they're important, and worth the devotion of your time.

They don't have any idea of what they really want. Contemporary left anarchism (even in the English speaking world) is still dominated by the ideas of a group of Russians from the 19th century; and I'm not talking about Marx, either. I'm actually talking about people like Kropotkin, who most people haven't heard of.

Anonymous are not a group that know how to produce solutions. That isn't their purpose. They're a group of angry, corporate-raised kids who know that *something* is wrong, and that said something which is wrong, needs to be smashed; and truthfully, the appeal of smashing things, is generally the single main element that brings Anonymous as a group together.

Op Egypt was a big case in point. That revolution was fake, but Anonymous didn't know that. They just want to DDoS some web sites, have some laughs, and do a bit of stuff which makes them think that they're also helping a few people out, and managing to piss off the authorities.

If you really want to know what Anon is, V for Vendetta really isn't the film you should watch. The movie you're really looking for is Drop Dead Fred.

Well, they would have used a capitalist-themed image, but you can only go so many places carrying a sign depicting rape. so, hey, they had to make do, I guess.

I wonder what "executive orders" will come from this phoney White House staged event.

Befor you fans of anarchy start flaming, just keep in mind that the founders of this "event" have close ties to the White House and this administration.

Staged, false, and using peoples good intentions for the sake of new "laws".

*bah*

Yah, I'm deeply suspicious of the "yes we can" banter, as they would have used something else if they didn't like the current admin. Like "No we Won't"
