I always here folks talking about how secure thing are post 911. I like to point out this is a load of the stinky stuff.

I wont even mention what killing 300,000+ people will do for you.

1. The cartels are intimately associated with the Al Qaeda and related through the heroin trade.
2. Our borders are wide open and all that would stand in a terrorists way would be some cacti and a few rattlesnakes.
3. There are so many illegal’s in country that we could never tell the difference between a terrorist and the average illegal.
4. The cartels could ship them in by the truck load completely undetected.

I have to think that if we were really concerned with security the borders would be sealed, and the influx of litterally hundreds of thousand every year would come to an abrupt end. A page on Wikipedia says there are an estimated 12 million+ in this country illegally. Most of these people just strolled across the border completely unhindered!

All the while, all I keep hearing is how the internet is some huge risk! It is starting to sound like a modern version of book burning.

If you went to the beach and scooped up a handful of sand you would have about a million grains of sand. 12 million have crossed the borders!!!!

You must be kidding. Any engineer who's worth his salt at MIT can produce a nuke with available stuff at Wal-Mart.

Now there's 36000 pounds of it around somewhere. You only need 20-30 pounds and you can have a big nuke.

My point is due to the volatile nature and expertise required you have a fair amount of time to find it and track it down by following the trail the experts and the money.
Or you can hypothesize what plans for it are, wring your hands about it - and basically do nothing but wait until it is made into a dirty bomb or a nuke and used against us.
Sound to me like a sting operation. We are kind of stupid but considering chasing loose nukes is a hobby of Obama I don't see this as one of those typical stupid mishaps. I think this is calculated and they are following where they end up and gathering information and suspects along the way.

There is no way, because once the nuclear material gets into one country, anything can happen to it. It could be reported as "stolen" or something, while being sold to organizations or countries who really shouldn't have nuclear capabilities.

But then again, the fuel, although important, is not a replacement for the years of research and development that is needed to actually develop a bomb of this sort, although it is much easier today than it was in the decades the bomb was first developed. Still scary though.

It might not have existed in the first place. It could be a zero carried over somewhere.

Probably the most dangerous part of a dirty bomb that uses plutonium or uranium is the shrapnel that it would produce. Flying chunks of metal are dangerous. That, and the cleanup cost would impose significant opportunity cost and take money away from other things that are more likely to save lives.

yeah this is pretty bad, espically because i just heard a story on the news a few days ago, dont remember where, but it should be easy to find if you want, about some guy getting arrested for trying to split atoms in his kitchen, as a hobby he said, after getting the info off the internet. now if people with enough willpower and time can split atoms in their kitchen, and we have missing nuke material floating around, it seems like a potentially bad combination. even if someone is "doing it as a hobby" imagine the destruction and chaos that would bloom outwards if something went wrong in that guys kitchen, and how much bigger and insane it would be if that guy had military grade plutonium.

When our govt. does stuff like this, it would seem like they almost want an attack on the homeland. That would give them an excuse to institute a NWO at any rate, post-war if we still have a planet left when all would be said and done. Just a thought, I know somebody mentioned potential false-flag in one of the earlier comments, however this wouldn't be a false flag this time, officially, at least we couldn't prove it because it would be coming from another country, whether ordered by us secretly or not. They could sit back and say "Woops!" "Well, we must retaliate!" etc. etc. There should be heads on stakes for this one, hopefully folks in Congressional Committees will do the right thing and draw a line somewhere.
