Michelle Obama 's disrespect of the American Flag during 9/11 Memorial Ceremony?

Not sure which forum to place this in. I'm having a hard time,trying to be civil and I am definitely riled ... But decided to post here since this was at the 9/11 memorial... If thread needs to be moved, sorry to inconvenience you, in advance.

This vid, imo tells a LOT...
If you can read lips..it appears she is asking "all this just for a flag?" or the like, in which she seems to show disgust while shaking her head ,alongwith the smirk..

That's just my opinion. You can read into it whatever you wish. Just wanted to get this out there for you guys to see and form your own conclusions

This , imo, just shows her true patriotic sentiments...and disregard for our American flag.

Not here to debate, just wanted to get the vid out, so you can see for yourselves.

Plus...most people have agreed that it looks more like she is saying "Love the way they fold that flag" or "Look at the way they fold the flag".

I see nothing be reverence on their faces.

Please watch it all the way, the shaking of head and smirk is cut out too soon on the loop, imo.... If you watch the whole thing closely, you will see her shake her head & smirk ... The vid was focusing more on what she was saying, imo... and repeated a bit too fast not letting the shaking of head and smirk come through everytime. If you watch it, you wiLL see this.

It doesn't make sense to me for her to shake her head assuming she is talking about how lovely they fold the flag with a smirk... -- just doesn't add up to me. Sorry.

Again, please watch the whole thing. I'm sure you will see her do this...It's on the film- evidence.

I can't make out what she's saying, but I don't really see anything untoward here myself?

And regardless, while I love what the flag and the republic originally stood for, I have a hard time thinking of that when I see it anymore in light of what we've been doing with our power over a good many decades now. The original experiment in liberty and prosperity has gone very far off course due to our inattentiveness and lack of involvement with and supervision of our "representatives" as well as the issues at hand.

to me, it looks like she's saying "do you think we can get food after this?" obama's prompt and obvious agreement makes my theory seem plausible.

in all seriousness, this is pretty nit-picky. it isn't blatant disrespect, and we don't even know what she said.

A theory is that she said "Look at the way they fold that flag" as if they were folding it incorrectly. I couldn't see how they were folding it to see if they were doing it wrong. Maybe someone can check into that.

My eleven year old son thought your analysis could be correct.

We got a pretty good laugh off of that because that's most likely what we would have been saying if we were tied up for a long time at a solemn ceremony. You know, not trying to be disrespectful, but breaking up the heaviness of the moment on a personal level.

After watching it over an over and mouthing different questions..I think she says "is all this just for a flag?" even if that is what she said maybe she doesn't mean it disrespectfully. Maybe she's referring to the cost and pomp being a little over the top for the times being the way they are.

Either way FU** THEM...I can't wait till his ^ss is outta office. Would it kill him to answer one F'n question after a speech, press conference or ANYTHING?

I think far too much is being read into this. We have no idea what she is saying or thinking. It is a big leap to say she is being disrespectful. Anyone call and ask her?

Thank you for your reply and watching her closely. I appreciate your effort here. You could be correct! How I wish, but honestly doubt though..... Yeah, it does appear to be "all this/that just for a flag?", good catch.

But if you really think about it she is right in a way, although she may not have a clue how or why.

We do some really stupid things because of flags, just think of all those unjust wars and such we have conducted which would only be possible with a pervasive and deep system of brainwashing and indoctrination.

You know what I care about?
People, Animals, Plants, Science, History, Freedom, Liberty.

And you know what those things indicate to me? That we are misled into destroying ourselves with this "patriotism". Oh and combined with patriotism , greed is the counterpart in the corporate world. The government wants to make us "patriotic" so we will never question them, and the corporations want to make us selfish and greedy so we won't care how much blood is on our products. Just keep consuming and don't ask any questions.
