Super Earth Found

The newfound haul of alien planets includes 16 super-Earths, which are potentially rocky worlds that are more massive than our planet. One in particular - called HD 85512 b - has captured astronomers' attention because it orbits at the edge of its star's habitable zone, suggesting conditions could be ripe to support life.

Could this be leading up to a revelation of alien life by governments? Is disclosure going to happen soon?

I'd assume that's how they'd do it. Tell us they found life on another world first, then that opens the door to endless possibilities they can tell us.

They have been finding exo-planets for years and years. Even those that -might- be able to support life (as best that our very rudimentary equipment can data gather).

But no, sorry this is not part of some monumental secret cabal's evil plans to gradually disclose alien life to you, lol. How do you figure that works, guess every astronomer in the world is in on it? Or perhaps you think the government is waiting for some civilian catalyst that will allow them to "disclose" aliens to you? Like finding exo-planets?

Finding the planets we are finding is such a far cry from promoting alien life it is absurd to connect the two.

Why ? this isn't the first time we've discovered a new planet and it won't be the last , Alien life will be first revealed on Mars , because we can get their to look for it .

Depends on your definition of disclosure , disclosure of Aliens visiting the Earth .....No , disclosure of microbial life on Mars ..... of course .

Ok Timeout...first of all it's a good article and makes a suggestion. Second...haven't we all pretty much concluded that there is life on other planets? I'm not talking about humanoid looking creatures that can fully function but we're talking something as simple as bacteria. So when you say disclosure what kind of life are you hinting at? I think people get confused when they say it may support life that it doesn't necessarily mean it can support humans.

Amazing.

And unless some of the UFOs that seem to have come out of Star Trek are ours, our technologu sux, it takes so long to even send people to mars, to Saturn, to other solar system places yet to other galaxies. Forget it with what is used now.
