I see no harm what-so-ever in starting a new thread regardless of the existence of one several months old to garner new opinion and viewpoint. The OP on this thread opened with a different attitude compared to the older thread and therefore attracted new and varied comments.

That's not to say you don't have a case. Occasionally an event will occur that will result in a plethora of threads within minutes of each other, save your energy for dealing with those.
