Okay, the imperalist warmongers comments need to stop here. I actually want to know some damn good reasons. Personally I think its the religous views that have really weighed heavily down on the republican party and really distorted the goals and ideals of what being a republican is.

What do you think?

That's true and false. Christianity around the world is prodominately liberal, not conservative. In the Southern United States, however, Christians are nearly all Conservative, and view politics and religion as a singular issue. The Republican party has convinced the people of the South that their "values" match up with the values of the Bible. In nearly every speach they mention God, and make it sound as their Democratic rivals are not Christian, which is often untrue.

Republicans also have a proud history of perverting the Constitution's view of Seperation of Church and State by supporting "old-fasion" methods of imposing their relgious beliefs.

I am a democratic Christian. With a few exceptions, I believe liberal values are much more in-line with the New Testament, as opposed to conservative views, which are greatly in opposition to the Bible.

But religion is not my sole factor in deciding a political party. I believe in fairness, rights of the individual instead of rights of the corporation. I'm for a government that wants to help its people, instead of destroying other countries; treats all people equally, no matter thier race, sexual orientation, or religious beliefs; and that doesn't impose one groups "morals" on everyone else, throwing people in jail if they do not follow the "code of a citizen" the group lays out.

The gop is regressive, not progressive, their oppressive to those who aren't like them and who do not fit their "type". They have a status quo, and the administrations stances they have taken literally blow.

Bush Blocking Safe Chemical Alternatives at vulnerable power plants

The blindness on the Administration ignoring terrorist potential in our own backyard

The carelessness of our freedoms and trading it for security (the patriot act)

The siding with corporate conglomerates instead of whats good for our health and the environment

The bullying of other nations as a means of foreign diplomacy.

The lies and cover ups and murder trails of george bush and his father are sickening. Same with billy clinton's murder trails.

The religious overtones and how god chose him to be president and his ignorant subliminal messages during speeches...

The discriminatory stances they've taken on AA, gay rights/marriage...

How they treat iraqi's with respect and us like garbage. (civil rights, freeing them, while oppressing us and our rights)

Taking us along for the ride and not giving a # about the American people when they put him in office... It's a joke.

He's everything but compassionate, zealous, studious, sensitive, intelligent, and logical...

An evil empire is being built and the corporations are all in bed with his ass, thank mccain and feingold for their brilliant idea...

Those comments won't stop ever due to the Iraq invasion. Bush sealed republican fate as forever being called imperialist warmongers and it won't change any time soon.

It's only fair. ;-)

I don't hate the right. I just think very strongly that we should not let them have power over us, due to the extreme measures they take against our freedoms. I don't hate the right-wing supporters either, since most of them are ignorantly following based on religious beliefs, or family persuasion. I was a republican once. One definition I like to use is, Republican is a Democrat who hasn't awakened yet.

I used to believe that Republicans of the modern era were for the inherent good in all men. Government should intervene only when one person violates the natural rights of another, and should otherwise not get involved in our daily affairs.

I feel this has drastically changed and Republicans now not only stand for bigger, more intrusive, government, but also tend to appeal to the worst in us.

It seems we have allowed the traditional ideals of family, hard work, and taking responsibility for your own future, to be too easily hijacked and perverted by racists, trust babies, and sycophants into the no gays, no responsibility for others, and the no blacks, messages delivered by today's Republicans.

And I don't know if the Democrats offer a viable alternative. The Democrats still seem to believe we need saving from ourselves.

A person has three choices in life. You can swim against the tide and get exhausted, or you can tread water and let the tide sweep you away, or you can swim with the tide, and let it take you where it wants you to go.

GO Bush!

I think its the way they fail to seperate the church and state, the way they dont care about the environment and care more about making huge amounts of money, the way many of their views and policies are backwards and limit the progress of humans as a species, and also that their primary representative is a bumbling moron who wouldnt know fair and just if it came up and bitch slapped him across his monkey face...

When it comes to congress and the president, if you think that the terms 'left' and 'right' have any meaning beyond securing votes and dividing people you're not paying attention.

Well lemme see here, reasons to dislike the Right.... [/ hmmm...

Though one this...

Hmm...

Oh theyre just soooo nice alll of them... hard to find a reason not to like them what with their attitudes to the poor (its your fault, so work harder), their attitudes on civil liberties (we will decide for you if you want an abortion or if you should have a gay wedding), their wonderfull diplomatic skills (kick poor countrys @$$ and steal everything of value) do i need to go on ?

IMO, the RIght equals facism.

Obviously, most right-wingers just say that they are proud of their culture and merely wish to preserve it, which is probably the truth, for a minority of them, but you only have to look at right-wing policies throughout the world to see that the majority are narrow and insular and care little for the knock on effect, as long as they get what they want.

Before ranting, just read this article. Then decide if there is really any difference between the right and left in this country. And before you spout off about how peaceful Kerry's going to be, keep in mind most American wars have been started by Democrats, and beyond that the current president promised to stay out of wars while running for office.

www.informationclearinghouse.info...

The only thing you have really, is a lesser of two evils determined by subjective choice. The candidates are both Yale graduates and Skull and Bones boys, yet one's your anti-Christ and another is your savior. LMAO.

The Conservative mind disregards the right to an abortion, the separation of church and state. They believe in the right of the wealthy to get a tax break, and let the working and midle classes take the brunt of the costs of social programs. The protection of the corporation is paramount to that of the individual.
Conservatives might lower taxes but they deficit spend, causing long term economic problems that liberals have to clean up. We raise the taxes because it is the only way to pay for the vast amount of social programs that our society has come to expect and demand. The conservatives make promises it cannot possibly keep, lowering taxes and increasing funding for healthcare??? Where is the money coming from, and not only that Bush has promised to pay off the largest deficit in american history while still keeping his b.s. tax cut, and do this all while funding a neverending war in Iraq, let me tell you it is this kind of rash incompetent leadership that makes me ALWAYS vote for the left, not to mention the Christian fundamentalist nutbags who fund trashmouthed rightwing talk radio crackheads. All of these reasons and many many more. The right sucks.....FACT.

And before anyone spouts at me, I never said Kerry was a saviour, i totally agree that he is not a saviour and that in many respects the Democrats and the Republicans are the same. BUT the name of this thread was why i hate the RIGHT, and I hate the right for all the reasons i stated and many many more. I vote for the left. If i was an American, I would vote for the Democrats even thoough I don't consider them the LEFT at all, they are more a middle ground party. It is a shame that Americans don't have a more socialist party to choose from, and I am sure that the formation of such a party would generate alot of interest and perhaps the interest of potential voters. The voter turn out in the United States and the rest of the western world is at all time lows, it seems to get lower every election, so something seems to be wrong. The last two elections now I have heard so many peopel profess total apathy to who gets elected becuase they feel like it really doesn't make a difference, and that is seems to me to be the symptoms of a unhealthy government. Anyways thats all i have to say

What I've noticed with alot of the right... they talk about how they believe in self-choice and all that.. but of course it has to meet their specifications before you make your own decisions otherwise they begin screaming and waving bibles. They also tend to put profits first before anything else. Especially with this environmental situation.. if we keep doing what we are doing the future demise will come quicker. But I still suppose profits come first to them.

The way you said that, every right wing person is both very religious and super-capitalist. I think your judging the right wing just from the world's experiences of the American Republican Party and George Bush.

I live in Britain, I am centre-right wing, and the left winger majority of Britain seem to view my political beliefs as racist and harsh (even though they are not). The simple fact is the left wingers see all those of a right wing as Nazis, which is completely un-true, it's like called all left wingers, Communists, which again is completely un-true.

People don't see that the gap inbetween Centre-Moderate and Far-Right is a huge divide, the left only see right winger as the same thing,

People forget the mistakes of the left but always seem to remember the errors of the right

People say the far right (nazi-facist) is the only evil political view point, but remember that both the far-right and far-left are equally evil and have done equal damage to the world.

I stand up for the practical Right Wingers (although I'm more centre-right), who believe faithfully in their idealogy, and refuse to listen to the racist extremists of the far right.

American Right Wing and British Right Wing are slightly different

Fair point Young Skywalker....oops, sorry, UK Wizard.

Personally I'm bored of the Left and Right parties and am now going to view the world as UP and Down, and maybe even forward and backward aswell..!!

That puts the Tories roundabout, Right, Down and Backward, that about sums it up.

Communism, IMO, is beyond the left and goes full circle till you get back to the Republicans. Socialist would be a better description of extreme left-wingers. Comrade...!!
