No one is going to take your guns. Quit being so paranoid about that. Despite what Fox News says, no one is trying to "take your guns so they can install socialism."
Why are they reporting on it? Because there's a bunch of pissed off people with guns. That's why. Not all of these these militias would do anything, but I'd bet there's quite a few that would. Add to that there's still hardcore racists in this country who hate that a black man is president...
'They' aren't planning anything. But they are. There's a lot of people who hate America, you can prove this by just looking around these forums. TPTB don't need to plan anything. 'They' would probably respond with a crackdown if something does happen, but that's another story entirely. But the crackdown wouldn't involve "taking your guns."
Too many people have guns for that event to be even remotely possible.

“Attorney General Eric Holder on Wednesday sought to distance himself and other senior Justice Department officials from a botched operation to track guns smuggled to Mexican drug cartels, saying they were not involved,” Reuters reports.
Note the perpetuation of the “botched” meme by the “Authorized Journalists,” who inserted that characterization into a supposedly “straight news” story on their own.
"The notion that somehow or other that this thing reaches into the upper levels of the Justice Department is something that, at this point, I don't think is supported by the facts," Holder told reporters.
“At this point…”?
“I don’t think…”?
Could that brief compilation of weasel words have been crafted any more carefully for escape clauses? And the “reporters” on the ground and in his face didn’t think to challenge it?
Holder questioned whether the congressional probe, led by Republicans in the House of Representatives and Senate, was politically motivated...
Does anyone even know if murdered Border Patrol agent Brian Kel…uh…Terry was a Republican or Democrat? How about slain ICE agent Jaime Zapata? Does it matter what political sympathies the estimated scores of dead Mexicans may have had, if any?
And since when is ensuring law enforcement compliance with the law a partisan issue? Weren’t walked guns found at crime scenes in Phoenix misused to endanger all citizens? Not to mention the untold numbers still out there?
Let’s explore what it means for Holder and “upper levels of the Justice Department” not to have known about what he dismisses as “this thing,” although we’ll have to suspend what’s been documented to date about Assistant Attorney General (and direct report to Holder) Lanny Breuer, and National Security Council Director of North American Affairs Kevin O'Reilly (as well as the President’s role as a statutory attendee of NSC meetings).
Holder is asking us to believe he was oblivious to U.S. Attorney-authorized operations in Arizona. And Houston. And Tampa. And Indiana. These all just sprang up as uncoordinated local ideas, with regional management taking responsibility on their own authority.
If so, is that not evidence enough of utter incompetence, mismanagement and negligence to warrant his impeachment and potential civil and criminal prosecution? That is, if you don’t think the intent of his parsed non-denial denial was to make us believe a lie.
As for Holder’s implausible “hope…that Congress will conduct an investigation that is factually based and not marred with politics,” perhaps if he knocked off the stonewalling, they’d be able to. Perhaps if the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, when it was under Democrat control, and DOJ’s Office of Inspector General had not shown deliberate indifference to early accusations by whistleblowers of corruption, abuse and retaliation, the current investigation would not even be happening because such a monumentally evil operation as “Project Gunwalker” could not have taken place in an environment of scrutiny. And victims of the botched op…uh… plot would still be alive.
Here’s what is needed to achieve Holder’s stated-for-the-cameras goal of a “factually based investigation”:
The damned mainstream press needs to get off their subversive hindquarters and start reporting honestly and completely on this story, instead of using it as an excuse to smear investigators and stump for more citizen disarmament. And of course the AG can count on his reliable Fourth Estate Fifth Columnist allies not to let him down. So scratch this one and let's focus on the rest.

In all truth it would probably be scary if we really know how many citizens were on some type of list or another that our government has compiled.
I agree with your entire post, but you really hit the nail on the head with this quote. I have believed for a while now that I am probably on one of their "lists", from different things I have posted on different sites, but it doesn't worry me. I have done research into all the Fusion Centers around the country that spy and collect intel on us Citizens and the last time I checked, it was rumored to be a list consisting of almost 500,000 names. A half a million people! Im sure it is more by now.
And they will put that list to use in the name of safety someday. Thats what my thoughts are anyway. I could be wrong, but I dont think I am. Believe me when I say, I hope I AM wrong about this...
Frances first revolution will look like a tea party when the people get educated to the false flags and phoney news which gets concocted to make us react in ways they want us to.......
I have a feeling the US security services want to make public a successful anti-terror operation. They want to make all of you Americans feel like they aren't useless and get some good publicity. Remember even the MSM have come to the conclusion that the response to 9/11 was woefully inadequate. If they can't have a real success maybe they will make it look like they have saved thousands of lives and regain the confidence of the people.
Most of these militia types are patriotic loyal Americans who wish to defend their homes and local communities in the event of natural disaster, or internal disturbance. They are like minded civic organizations who take an oath to defend the United States of America and the United States Constitution. So what if they don't take their orders from the Pentagon or from some politician? We should be encouraging militias rather then branding them as Neo Nazi redneck anti-government nutcases.
