TRIPOLI, Libya (CNN) - A potent stash of Russian-made surface-to-air missiles is missing from a huge Tripoli weapons warehouse amid reports of weapons looting across war-torn Libya.
They are Grinch SA-24 shoulder-launched missiles, also known as Igla-S missiles, the equivalent of U.S.-made Stinger missiles.

The article goes on to say that the Grinch SA-24s are designed to target front-line aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles and drones. They can shoot down a plane flying as high as 11,000 feet and can travel 19,000 feet straight out.
There was a lot of talk after the US invasion of Afghanistan back in 2001 the our supply of Stinger shoulder launched SAMS would come back to bite us. I never really bought into that because critical operational components on the Stinger have a relatively short shelf life, but I wouldn’t be so non-chalant about these.
I am sure many of them are sitting in someone’s living room as trophy or wating to be sold on EBay, but if they fell into the wrong hands …..

This is where I don't understand what happened as if he did have all this kit why on earth did he not use it..
But then I guess we will never really know the truth and I hope these have not been spirited anywhere.

I always thought the link between TWA 800, Philippine Airlines Flight 434, and Ramzi Yousef was pretty convincing.
