No my friend I will never need the use food stamps. Do not pretend to know me. You do not. As for how I feel about food stamps...they are given to people who DO NOT need them, and they deny people who do. I'm all for feeding children and the elderly, but I refuse to see big bertha pushing her cart full of ice creams and donut holes, steping up to the cashier and swiping that EBT card. Same goes for the ones that have their designer hand bags and cell phones... It's aparent to me that if you have all those nice things but can't buy food, you need to re evaluate your spending habbits.

Had to intrude... Now I'm not saying EVERYBODY only uses food stamps in between jobs and such, because there are many people who abuse the system, as with every system. And like I stated earlier in the thread, I use food stamps from time to time. I have a nice cell phone and purse, which were purchased a while back when I was working. You shouldn't judge people off of what you see right in front of you... And I'd have to agree with you about not giving stamps to those who need them; they have denied me several times in the past, based off certain criteria, which isn't effective.

Why in the world would anyone care if a poor person has a taco? This is beyond petty.

Oh, yeah, right... it's YOUR money, and you are a control freak. How sillly of me to forget.

Keep those po folks on butter beans and corn bread dammit! Tacos are for us working folks.
How dare they want a taco. Appalling.

You CANNOT purchase hot food with food stamps. The fact fast food resteraunts are becoming so desperate tells me they arent making the buisness GOOD.

sure you can.

you can buy a sub from a food mart and stick it in their microwave- leave with hot food... not to mention any frozen dinners they might have in the freezer. it's going to be overpriced too, so why not just buy it from subway if it's open?.. especially if you have no kitchen in the first place.

I thought food stamps were a necessity not a free breakfast, dinner or lunch at a fast food restaurant! Instead of stopping the purchase of junk food, candy, soda, and other unhealthy purchases they're adding to the list!

Whatever knuckle brain politician came up with this idea, probably votes on any spending increase that passes his or her way.

I would understand allowing toiletries and laundry soap to be added to food stamp purchases, but adding these foods are not only unhealthy but they'll only increase health problems and cause obesity.

Um, yes; however, if someone is homeless, he/she does not have a stove to cook food on.

They should make it an option, but with different fast food places. Long John's is very fatty and with no nutritious value. KFC has some healthier options, but not many. McDonalds has no healthy options. Even their salads are horrible.
