The lab animals are kept in insanely INHUMANE conditions. They are cramped in cages, isolated, NO stimulation. How would you like to be stuck in a box for 30 years with NOTHING to do? You realize what kind of torture that is?????

If they are going to test on them, why do they put them in such horrible conditions?

All in the name of science....

I'm sure you would say this to the doctor telling you that your life was over without a treatment that came from animal experimentation.

Of course we did.

Evolution is not a theory.

I personally would be all for using death row inmates for medical testing..or violent criminals instead of animals.breaks my heart

Upsetting footage, made me feel very cold. Its things like this which make us "humans" look like idiots to nature. Why do we have to do it? All of this cruelty just so big-pharma can discover a medicine that brings in big wads of cash? Why is everything about money? Even if a cure was found, it would never be widely used, once you cure an illness they can't make money from prescriptions as the client doesn't need the medicine anymore.

Its sickening, but at least these lucky few got back out into the open one last time.

aww, those poor chimps..
So heartbreaking and sad. Their reaction was enlightening though. The smile on their faces was just beautiful. Shame they waited 30 years to let these poor animals go, when it should of been sooner.

i know who do we think we are is the correct phrase... but if your family or child was brought up to the plate for testing .. and they asked you

would you rather a human being or a monkey ... you would easily jump on board the monkey and put him in the grinder ?
If it's so bad for your own child to go through that then why should any living being have to go through it, especially highly intelligent creatures such as chimps. It's saddening and really annoys me. There should be other ways of conducting research that don't involve this animal abuse. Where the hell is the cure for HIV huh?

or death row prisoners? why?
becuse you think its unhuman!!!
most of you Think you will go to heaven.

If only the scientists involved, and more likely the big-shots above them had some idea about how it would feel to be treated this way. Set them up with a cramped little dark cage for a week and see how they feel. I'd sure hope treatment would improve if they first walked a mile....

It's sad to see that we do this to animals, but it's even sadder knowing we do this to humans as well......I've said it before an I'll say it again.."We Deserve What's Coming"

it's nice to know that we are the higher order evolved species. my dog is much nicer than most humans and we communicate very easily with and without words. i think our furry, feathery, and fishy friends have much to teach us if we would just listen occassionaly

There is no freedom without control. That thought comes to mind.

Freedom is not free. Ever heard that?

This freedom we enjoy, the convenience, has a price.

The animal tests allow us to save lives. They allow us to live modern lives.

Do the innocent people in wars that die ever ask to be sacrificed in our favor?

Do extinct species ever have a choice when we consume their habitat?

Is a cop ever given a choice when a suspect aims a weapon at him?

Do the fish that we kill for food ever voluntarily give themselves to us for our nourishment?

Do dictators give us a choice when they defy reason and spread death?

What about the cattle on farms. Did we ever ask them if we could butcher them or milk them?

And, btw, the earth could only support about 100 million hunter/gatherers.

So we can't go backwards in time and live the way we used to.

There is only forward. We have a choice.

We can break all the rules and suffer and die as we try to make new ones; it's not free.

Or we can go on as we have previous. A bittersweet acceptance of life.

What you say is the exact kind of mentality that should be wiped from humans.

All animals have a right to live life without being prodded and poked and tested on.

Everything you said there in your gay little list is wrong my friend, their are other ways to combat each and every one of those.

Sometimes i think, as smart as humans are, we are too stupid to realize other paths and alternatives.

There is a major difference between eating to survive and testing on animals to make products, or even cure diseases

You have no idea dude...

Freedom is free, you just gotta learn

I'd suggest prisoners on death row, in fact i might even suggest your child be the one done testing on.

It sounds like you shouldn't even be breeding.

Someone also explain to me:

what successful cures have resulted from testing on animals?

HIV/AIDS is still rampant, cancer still exists.

I do thank these chimps, for helping the humans species figure out how to make the human species' profits soar with medical investors looking for a quick buck.

No really, I really thank the chimps for helping the humans. They went through hell, and now they can see the outside. That must be really great for them.

Truly upset to be a human right now.. I honestly want to arm myself and free the rest of the animals in captivity..

i dont want to hear the excuse of modern medicine.. use volunteer humans.. not animals.. there would be plenty.

I'm sick in my stomach right now.. so messed up.

Why don't we kill 2 ethical birds with 1 stone and allow Human cloning and Human testing.
We need to test on something =/
