December 21, 2012--The Dark Rift

The Mayan Calendar predicted that there would be an aligning of Earth with the Dark Rift behind the Sun.
Is this actually true?
I also heard that the aligning would affect us and the Earth.
Anybody know if any if the effects can actually happen?
Here are some effects I've read:
* Migraine headaches, tiredness
* Electrical sensations in the limbs and spinal column
* Cramps in the muscular networks
* Flu like symptoms
* Intense dreams.
* The human body will become more sensitive as a result of the new vibrations.
* The resonance of Earth (Schumann Resonance) has been 7.8Hz for thousands of years. Since 1980 it has risen to over 12Hz.
This means that 16 hours now equate to a 24 hour day. Time is speeding up!
* The physical body has already begun to change. A new light body is being created.
* Our DNA is being re-programmed from the Universe (as predicted in the Mayan Prophecy).
We are going from 2 strand back to 12 strand DNA.
* Greater intuitive and healing abilities will emerge.
* Eyes will become cat like in order to adjust to the new atmosphere and light.
* All newly born children will probably be telepathic at birth.
* All plagues of the 90's, including AIDS will be gone.

Dark rift behind the sun...wouldnt that affect the sun somehow?

and this information comes from where?

A dark rift orbits the sun right now and in the future the earth will align with it and then all that stuff will happen? Why doesn't the rift affect the sun (solar explosion is in your list) until it is in alignment with the earth? Why earth and not mars or venus?

Ok I read the artical and is this was the case this is only 7 yrs away don't you think we would be seeing some changes in our DNA and stuff if this were true? 16 hrs will be equal to 24hrs? Don't you think our darkness and daylight would already be changing? This just seems a lil far fetched. We are now turning into the aliens we are looking for? LOL with cat like eyes and we are telepathic? I don't know! All I'm saying is these are big physical changes this person is talking about and it would take years for our bodies to do that, we should start seeing some changes in us physically if this were true. For a species to adapt to it's surrounding it takes years of subtle changes! It doesn't happen over night!

Can anyone back up this whole schumann resonance thing? I hear it all the time, but it's never backed up with any facts. Look at this quote for example.

How do they conclude that time is speeding up?

The claims being made here do seem a little far fetched. I did a quick search on Schumann Resonance and the first few results, while informative, offer nothing to support any theories of time speeding up, or rapid dna evolution. First couple of sites linked:

Seems slightly far fetched. Besides who says things like radiation and such would actually cause telepathy. And please excuse my ignorance but could somebody please explain the details of a dark rift.

Okay...so your telling me it only takes 16 hours for us to revolve around the sun now? Sorry..but our time is not based on some "resonance". our 24 hour day is still....whatever that exact number is...not quite 24 hours but pretty freaking close. Our time is still centered around night and day, and the earth going around the sun.

Now..i do know what is meant in this article. I have read up into it a long time ago. Seems very far fetched, however i never trash anything, because everything is always a possibility. I do believe the Myans had an important reason for ending their calendar when they do, like maybe they said what the hell, im not gonna be here so why go further. however, what is there to tell us that it has anything to do with us. i mean, my computer only goes up to year...2099...is the world gonna end then? There might be something spectacular or horrible that happens in 2012, but many ideas are just people trying to put meaning into something they have no idea about, or trying to make meaning out of a life they feel has more meaning then just being here. Yeah i believe there is more to us then just skin, bones, and thought. I believe we live a splended life after this one...or maybe we just stay buried under the ground. okay sorry i lost track...but yeah, there could be something that the myans knew, but wouldnt their calendar have to end eventually? I mean, they wernt here forever, so it had to end somewhere...

The Mayans said nothing of a dark rift. The mayan calendar finishes its last cycle in 2012 (gregorian calendar). The rift legend must be much more recently added to teh date.

*sigh* The dark rift is a portion of the milky way galaxy. It is an area with so much density that light does not reach us (I believe it's dark matter?), and is also known as the "Great Rift". Let me dig links:

Ok, not dense (although I do remember reading somewhere about some density characteristics that were recently observed through the use of, I think, x-ray telescope).

Basically, on the same date that the Mayan calander ends, there are a bunch of other things going on. Our solar system will align with the milky way, several planets will align as well, I think Venus makes it's way across the face of the sun on that day, too, not to mention that it's the first day of Winter Solstice.

Another thing is that Novelty Theory zero point is reached at that day.

As far as things that are occuring now, they are measuring less and less radiation from the sun reaching earth, the sun is darkening, most of the planets (known) in our solar system are undergoing changes, our earth's rotation is slowing down, the earths resonance has changed, and world government is getting out of control. People are more and more stressed (look at Novelty theory, it explains social behavior patterns based on the exponential rate of knowledge and technology, etc). New awareness has formed, albeit in the form of the Internet, but it has formed. Technology is becoming spirituality (check my avatar title... explains a bit about that if you can iterpret the meaning).

Think of the mayan calader this way (and all events that are said to happen): We are in an hourglass, in a vortex of energy and matter. We are swirling down to that point where the velocity of the (sand) is intense. We are reaching that 'zero-point' where only single grains can fit through. Once we reach that singularity, there will be a recession... basically we will be exiting through into the next chamber of the hourglass where the velocity decreases.

IMHO, when we past the sigular point, we will begin to evolve past the need for technology like computers and such, and may begin to form a new awareness of a neural intranet. We will be able to gain control over the energy our bodies release and basically technology will just continue, but we will be building in our minds rather than on silicone. Just my opinion, though.

Man, there is so much more to all this, but you'll have to dig for yourselves. Hopefully I've provided enough info for you to get started. Obviously I've looked into this subject a great deal. Wish I had my old bookmarks, I had a site marked that had an overlay of the Novelty Theory Timeline on the Mayan clander. Pretty spectacular, I must say! I'll see if I can't find it again... if so I'll post here for y'all.

Well, things are aligning all the time... in fact, assuming that the universe is infinite (or at least large enough that it may as well be, which is a pretty safe assumption), we are currently aligned with a similarly infinite number of extrasolar and extragalactic objects... and I feel pretty good, to be honest.

Of course, from an astrological point of view, this mass alignment could be very significant indeed. Of course, from an astrological point of view, a lot of things are important... or at least they seem that way until nothing happens.

I believe that they mean the way we percieve time, like how summers seemed long while you were a child but now seem to last a short while. This is due to the fact that we age though.

The Mayan calender will basically start a new cycle and there will be a winter solstice. I wouldn't be panicking.

Everything moves in cycles. I think the mayans had a far greater understanding of this than we do currently. The year 2012 is the lowest common denominator of all the cycles within our galaxy i.e. zero point. If anything comsic happens or not is anyones guess, but we will definatly need a new calendar.

The Mayan Calender doesn't end, a CYCLE ENDS.
The Mayan Calender consists of a cycle, within a cycle, within a cycle.
We are in a current cycle that will end in 2012 according to the Mayan Calender.

And the Mayans do refer to the Dark Rift.
