Mblah's Almond Joy cookies :)

These things are soooo good! I love Almond Joy candy bars so I decided to make them into cookies.

I am not a big baker but I wanted to make something for a good friend who doesn't always get to have fresh goodies. I am more of a meal type cooker but those are hard to send overseas!

I guess I don't find baking as challenging but I am branching out! I will have to make some French desserts, they seem a little more involved lol

My mom said the challenge in baking is being able to not eat everything when it's done. LOL! I laughed when my mom actually made a funny


These are easy and make about 4 dozen!

Mblah's Almond Joy Cookies

Ingredients

2/3 cup butter
3 cups flour
1 cup each brown and white sugar
3 eggs
2 1/4 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1and a half bags of Hershey Special Dark Chocolate Chips
1 3/4 cup sweetened coconut
1 3/4 cup sliced almonds


Directions
Preheat oven to 375 F

In a bowl mix dry ingredients and set aside

In a large bowl mix butter with both sugars to a cream. Next beat in each egg separately. Then add vanilla. Stir in the dry ingredients and mix well. Next stir in the chocolate chips, coconut and almonds til thoroughly mixed.

Drop onto a lightly greased cookie sheet and bake for 8-10mins.


Serve wilk milk

I LOVE cooking and I really enjoy sharing it with others. I know many people are afraid to cook because they are afraid they will mess it up. I always say "Follow the directions the first time to a T, then mess around with it."

I have one more cookie recipe to post next....peanut butter chocolate chip

It's really funny to always see the titles smack dab in the middle of usually negative threads. Yes, I'd love to learn how to make these cookies - Once I'm done reading up on inside jobs and alien abductions!

Gunna write this recipe down and nonchalantly put it next to my girl's paint brushes - so she thinks that the cookie elves stopped by to give her some new suggestions.

Yummmm! Thank you for this! I will be making these this year to add to my holiday goodie baskets that I do every year.... IF they make it that far Wondering if this recipe could also be modified a bit to make it into a bar cookie as well? What are your thoughts on that.....

HAHA I cook while reading about alien abductions, UFOs, Illuminati, Aliens on Mars and Elenin/Nibiru lol

Lol funny thing is I was thinking the same thing! I don't usually bake. I will ask my mom cause she does make alot of cookie bars like that. I will let you know what she says because I too would like to try the bar type...maybe coat it in coconut

I was thinking that perhaps for adults that would be receiving them in the baskets that a drizzle of khalua and confectioners sugar may be... nice... maybe even some creme de coco and confectioners sugar drizzled over the top of the bar cookie... I dunno tho.. just thinking out loud here.
