This to me is the perfect example of how the children in this post 9/11 era are being brought up. I really don't know what to say about this video. I don't find it funny at all, these girls and whoever put this together has some serious issues. This is ridiculous. I'm glad this is what our local schools are letting parents and faculty get away with. Go read a book.

When you post a video, it will come up in your "preview" screen. You can check it there. Play it there. When it will not work in your "preview" screen it will not work on the thread. At least that is what I have found in my own postings.

Preview first. The Preview button is found to the right of the reply and post button.

At least, it encourages good grades?? Trying to look on the bright side here.

Something is seriously wrong with our society.

In this post 9/11 world, just in the pre 9/11 world many parents are happy to see their children emulating the culture in which they are bringing up their children. This video reflects a certain cultural sense of art as it is presented to many people in the US today.

Young people in Ireland a while back were into Riverdancing type of stuff. Line dancing is country western cultures is copied and performed. Go back as far as you like and you will find young girls in grade school and middle school and high school copying the cheer leaders in our colleges.

Are you looking for someone to blame for something you don't like? Teachers? Parents? Anybody? Who? Have you thought that the blame for what you don't like might be because it comes from different cultural references than the ones you prefer? Is there anyone to blame for this?

Not looking for any answers, I've already given up on society, just thought I would share what I saw online, and let people know that I (opinion) think this is ridiculous. I don't blame anyone, I just can't believe that someone thinks this is ok. Nothing to see here, move on
I always have issues posting things on ATS because eveyone seems to be an expert on everything, sorry if I disappointed some of you. I just thought I would rant a little bit.

Right you are. It dosen't appeal to me either. I ran it for about 30 seconds and understood that it was not put together to appeal to me so I just let it go. Later mnky.

No need to be sorry.

You are allowed to have a rant if it is something you feel that strongly about. Try not to take peoples replies so personally.

Yeah, 10 years between me and baby bro. He'd have little problem finishing the video. I won't.

While watching the video, I felt that it was somehow inappropriate. However, the video was well choreographed, and well produced.

I think that I felt that there was a sexual connotation to the piece.

The group has talent, though.

I lasted 45 seconds into the video, beat that.

Yea I dont see anything wrong with this video at all. Its a little girl acting like a diva and rapping about doing the right things and acting her age. Doing her homework ignoring the clowns etc. Getting mad because she cant have sweets. I thought it was cute and age appropiate. I think, like someone above stated, you just dont understand the cultural influence of the video and are therefore offended because it doesnot flow with your own. My question to you, are YOU serious?

Good grades?!? Yeah? Only to "get paid", apparently?

There's a really defiant statement this video is making. That's what I draw from it. These young ladies have the current music video "dance" moves down, but do they really understand the adult implications of how they appear?

I'd need to know more about why this video was made to understand what the real point of it is supposed to be.

I will venture one thought...there is no innocence in childhood any more.

Ha Ha. Do you really think that those moves would be in any video? They are way too childish and elementary. Also do you think anyone would seek higher education if they didnt expect to make more money? Please get real. Its a harmless video.

Am I the only one who couldn't understand what the hell they were saying (singing)? I'm afraid the video snippets alone don't quite get it across--with muddy audio I can only guess.

Could someone fill me in a little on what they're saying?

I dont think you really need to hear every word, you can tell its absolute mindless crap.

I'm more interested in how on earth the OP arrived at(then decided to watch) this video?
