Mod's - Please move to appropriate forum or delete if the Australian Government gets in contact with you to delete my thread - LOL...

Doing my daily browse through the ATS forums I couldn't believe my eye's when I happened to spot the advert banner at the top of the screen on the new topics tab.

My limited knowledge on these types of ads are that they are somewhat random in nature however considering the nature of this website you can't go past reading every conspiracy in the book into this one.

OMG! LMAO! [Insert Acronym here...]

So tell me, what do the conspiracy nuts at ATS think of this?

Sorry, I have double posted. Didn't think to search it first. My Bad.

Original Post here!

Mod's please close this thread...

Well, I think they are going after the correct demographic, us.

It figures though, the military needs smart people to ensure they dominate everyone else for the foreseeable future.

Of course they want us to change sides and work for them, of course.

The demographics of ATS are pretty interesting, you would find way more intelligent and capable people here than you would expect.

Hmm, I cant help but wonder just how much the sites you visit determine what ads show up here on ats.

They do vary.

Yes exactly.

It is both to use us for their own ends, and to also tie us up with something else to do so we don't go around 'thinking outside of the box' publicly too often.

Two birds one stone.

And to the other guy who said you think it's fake, well if a real pay check comes in I would have to label it an actual job.

I concur. I have received ads advising me that there are HOT single girls in my area.

How do they know where I live? Help, they are watching me!!

Well, I know for a fact that, after I visited APMEX (American Precious Metals Exchange)a few weeks ago, 90% of all the advertisements that I am seeing are for APMEX. And I never noticed any APMEX ads before that.
And also after I have visited Petco.com, I see lots of Petco ads. 1-800-petmeds too.

browser based tracking for ads possibly?

See I've noticed that stuff too and it isnt just here on ats that I see ads from sites I visit. I remember that a few months back people were complaining about ads here and adware ect.. I guess a good test would be to run a few searches for whatever and see if those sites are using cookies or some other crap. then hit ats and see if those ads come up.

The ads are targetted. They scan your recent history and customize ads to you. I recently did research on a bed... The exact site I hit most often while reading now shows an ad everytime I log on. That's not the first time either.
