Obama off to yet ANOTHER vacation!

Well, it must have been an exhausting week for poor Barry Soetero. Just back from 10 days on Martha's Vineyard, he's off to Camp David for the long weekend. Oh, the stress!!

Ironic his chopper trip was shortened by bad weather --- maybe Mother Nature is telling him to get his narrow butt back in DC and to do his damn job!

President Obama has left for Camp David without making a comment on the new jobs report -- though Republican critics were happy to talk about it.

GOP members said the new Labor Department report -- showing zero growth in jobs last month, with the unemployment rate holding at 9.1% -- reflects the failure of Obama policies.

(AP) WASHINGTON — The White House says bad weather forced President Barack Obama to ditch his presidential helicopter, Marine One, en route to Camp David and board a motorcade to get to the presidential retreat in Maryland.

It happened Friday afternoon after Obama had already taken off from the South Lawn of the White House aboard Marine One, accompanied by daughter Sasha. The sky was overcast.

White House officials say a last-minute bad weather call was made. So instead of going directly to Camp David about 70 miles northwest of Washington, Marine One diverted to an alternate landing area and the president motorcaded the rest of the way.

I remember when lil Bush took all those vacations, then Bam!, 9/11 happened. Has Obama worked so hard he and the fam deserve another retreat? I would agree he's been very stressed lately, just look at all of that gray hair . Oh, & I'm sure this vacation is on the American tax dollar again, right?

I guess capitulating to the demands of religious zealots and right wing bigotry is very tiring.

Point being, Obama has a pretty good history of NOT taking vacations compared to past presidents.

Exactly....and it is labor day weekend.....most of the country is having a long weekend....I think it is ok that President Obama takes some time off too.

while i have no love for politicians:

take a look online of photo-images of the past 5 or 10 Presidents on their Inauguration Day.

then compare those photos to photos taken on their last day in Office.

four year post. look like they've aged 10 years. i doubt it's all fun & games.

I personally find his vacationing habits offensive compared to previous Presidents for one major and glaring difference. Reagan, and both Bushs had their residences/get away homes converted into National Command Centers within weeks of the election that put them in office. So...when Reagan was in California or Baby Bush was in Crawford, the physical location changed but the real effect of being in the White House didn't.

How exactly does that work at Martha's Vineyard? Are the SS running ahead to rebuild and then restore the grounds every time he comes? I'd love to see a true vacation comparison that leaves OUT the 'Working White Houses' past Presidents spend a good % of their "Vacation" time at and strictly compare locations that were not functional government facilities.

At least Camp David is a very real working location for the President. It actually makes me curious why he's going there, of all places. I believe I recall him making a couple statements regarding Camp David as something less than his first choice for a spot to relax. I wonder if others are due at Camp David this weekend for some official business they don't want the entire WH Press Corps to sit outside the door and speculate on? Hmmm... Where are the key people in Israel and the Palestinian Authority this weeked?

PRESIDENTS TAKE VACATIONS?

I sure hope he at least has the guts not to fly around in a helicopter. A president flying in an actual helicopter is ridiculous. He should drive a Toyota like everyone else.

I bet no other politicians or civil servants will have the gall to take off this holiday weekend. George W. Bush certainly worked while the rest of us were all sleeping...that guy was great!

I bet NObama won't even pay attention to all the staff that always accompany the president wherever he goes. He should be at his desk; these days it is impossible to work from home or on the road.

I wish I was President. It must be nice as a Democrat, when you never stopped going on about Bush being on vacation, golfing, and goofing off, being one of the biggest slackers to hold the job. Obama may end up beating Carter as the most useless President in the last 100 years!

I seldom believe what the media states or what the government PR types state. I mention this because I for one don't think that he's on another vacation.

I think that he is on a "pretend vacation" to the public while he and others secretly and quietly brain storm key and current issues of major concern with key political strategist while they plan their next move that will support the demise of America and the collapse of its financial structure while grabbing the last reins of power from the military that would be necessary to answer to no one.

If we could find out who will be with the Obama while he is at Camp David, it would go a long way to helping us discern what type of brain storming session he is in attendance for.

Anyway, just wanted to mention this item because as I stated earlier, I for one don't think its another vacation.

Stating it is another vacation implies that they hope it will raise some blog talk eyebrows and while everyone diverts their attention to such garbage, all the blah blah blah then allows Obama to say that racism is involved and that working on matters of importance to the nation is sometimes best kept private for matters of national security.

It is a political cover and using the vacation label is being used to be divisive, because that is what works best for the Democrats. Just a thought.

The economy is circling the drain, and he has done nothing to fix the many problems this country faces. He does not deserve "time off" or any vacations. NONE. He's hiding from public view because job growth was ZERO last month for the first time in history, many Americans cannot even afford the food for a cookout, and he's out of office AGAIN. He refused to answer any questions about the latest dismal news on jobs.

And you think he deserves "time off"??? He deserves to be FIRED.

You do know it's Labor Day Weekend, i.e. a holiday, congress itself is off until the 7th. Pretty petty excuse for a complaint.

If I were president, I'd take as many vacations as I could. I mean think about it, you have a lot of "retreats" at your disposal. May as well use them.
