Something that looked like a plane.

Yesterday i was in the garden , got locked out im afriad lol.

So i was looking up and i saw the white tail a plane gives out when its flying , but couldent see any plane atall. And in front of the white tail was this thin triangle of grey like a cloud.

It was moving very very fast across the sky.


Noone ANY ideas please

Anyone any ideas atall lol, cos it really baffeled me im afraid.

From your description, it looks like something we get overhead all the time.

Locally to me is a RAF base housing Tornado Fighters, and, after takeoff, the usually migrate to a high altitude transit corridor that takes them out to the ACM ranges over the North Sea.
Due to temperature being rather cold up there, and if they're running with afterburner/reheat on, the condensation of the jet exhaust forms the contrail you're seeing. It would be very difficult to an untraine deye to see a fighter in low visibilty grey colour scheme at such an altitude....

But then again, I could be completely wrong.......
