Most of the people calling for revolt have never even killed an animal, let alone another human being. They've never done anything in wartime, and at best play airsoft on the weekends. They don't realize the stench of burned flesh, feces, and everything else that happens when bodies are ripped open by bullets.

They read the news and see, "15 insurgents killed." They romance it, and think that it was a firefight and that when the smoke cleared, everyone alive went on their way. They don't realize that the body count was done by hand, after the fact. They don't realize that those who did the counting are usually the same people who did the killing. They get to see the gray matter, blood, guts, and all the rest...up close and personal. Then, the "intel" part comes in. It's time to check pockets, wallets (if they the dead has one), etc. You come across photos of that dead man's kids, wife, mother, father. It hits you that 30 minutes earlier, this was someone's father, brother, husband, son. This person's life, however subtle, had meaning to somebody else.

Some guys get hard as hell, and can kick the hell out of the corpse. Others internalize, and deal with it later in life. Yet others break down there on the spot. Everyone handles it different. But, don't think you're Rambo because you've played Call of Duty, and now you're ready to handle combat. Revolution is bloody. It's dirty, and people really do die. You will most likely have to kill. Are you ready for that? Are you ready to hunt another man? Think hard, because once that line is crossed, you can NEVER take it back. You will, and I repeat WILL see their faces.

It's not a game. It's real, and by God, it's not something that should be taken lightly. That's my 2 cents. Take it for what it is. Flame me, hate me, I really don't care.

I wonder for every homeboy on ats with a picture of a gun as an avatar have actually had someone point one back at them? Until one sees just what bullets do to a body, one can't truly comprehend. It is more life changing than losing one's virginity...

There will never be a revolution. We only kicked out the English in the late 1700's, the elites instigated the whole thing in order to save money on taxes and have been ruling ever since. Nothing changed for the common man except for having to go through the horrors of war on behalf of some wealthy landowner or businessman.
Unless the price of beer and cable tv become unaffordable...that is.

They cut off benefits, welfare, section eight housing, things like that. Dude, I'm with you. I'll be thrown in jail quicker then you. If we lived in the same state, you and me would be making signs and screaming about the freedoms of Americans

Every single one of those things is a subsidized entitlement paid for by people who actually work for a living. People collecting these "benefits" for free are the ones taking away my freedom because I'm the one who has to pay for this crap. People taking these benefits have become totally dependent on the government. It's pathetic. You're really smart, right? So get a job, start a business, and prove how smart you are. If you "rebel" what you will do, of course, is burn down your own houses, trash your own neighborhoods, and attack the storefronts of people who are actually productive in society.

So let's pretend for a moment that your "rebellion" is successful and you actually "take over." Who's going to pay for your free benefits then?

Not me.

And if you are presumptous enough to attack me, my family, or my neighborhood, please be on notice that I am well armed and angry at the amount you are already stealing from me in the form of your free "benefits." Dude.

Wasn't sure if this was the right forum for it but anyway.

America has been lied to over and over again, gotten into war after war - at YOUR expense - and is slowly but surely attempting to get rid of as many of your constitutional rights as it can.

I could go on for hours giving you examples of reasons to revolt, but I consider the members on ATS to be well educated on current events, especially in comparison to the rest of the world. Instead, I thought I would just ask everyone:

What is it going to take for you, as a single person, to say "Ok, enough is enough" and protest/preach/stop paying your taxes?

I am very interested to hear the replies, as I know some are already in the process of protesting, however there are others who will refuse to do anything until the problem knocks on their front door.

edit; I am aware this is directed more at Americans and I apologize if I somehow offended someone.

Revolution is a pipe-dream. Americans are too concerned with suckling from the teet of avarice to be concerned with their constitutional rights. Until EVERY american is on the streets standing shoulder to shoulder in accord, and having massive labor strikes and we stop this economy and government totally in its tracks, we will never be truly free. If you go out and try to protest on your own or do anything, you will get locked up as a terrorist with your rights to a trial suspended and jailed for as long as the rulers please.

Most americans don't realize it but, we havent been free since Andrew Jackson told Rothschild in the 18'20's to kiss his ass when Rothschild tried to buy the U.S. back then with his "Bank of The U.S."

It is bad all over, and sometimes breaking a few eggs is part of the process, good or bad. I am not a violent person, nor do I condone it, but if I am pushed into a corner I will fight to the death. Until TPTB realizes that they do not control the populace then we would not need to have revolts in the first place. I can say I am a true American and although I despise our current government, I still acknowledge the idea behind it and I will always defend that way of life no matter what idiots we elect to run this country. If a single bullet could fix the worlds problems, then by all means, use it, otherwise talk is getting pretty cheap.

From my perspective, Americans are pretty good at protest, on all manner of issues. Change can happen, although often slowly. The UN charter from 1945 for instance promised the recognition of equal rights for all,

"to reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the equal rights of men and women and of nations large and small, and to establish conditions under which justice..."

America was among the first to sign up, but there was an ambivalence in America, and it would not be until the late sixties, that the civil rights act of 1964 was fully implemented, however it did succeed, and from acts of protest, not revolution.
Revolution, can not always be a good thing in itself, it allows the elitists, and fascists to gird their loins, by playing their own game amonst the midst of confusion in the name of nationhood.

On a lighter note, I don't need to revolt, as I am already revolting

Wouldn't take very much ;-)
Don't start the revolution without me.
