Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this we know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God
I would recommend not doing this or to ask any spirit for answers to any questions.
Also another method you can use is casting lots to get answers.

These are persons and not to be trusted.
God, and His Spirit is not a person in the normal understanding of what a person is.
Things with egos have devious desires which involve your own demise.
I do that when I am trying to understand something and it just has to do with how our mind works, that if we can come up with a relevant question, we can always arrive at an answer for it, and then just apply that result in a practical way. I could do this sort of thing quite often by going on forums and reading how people wonder about one thing or another. In that sort of situation I can be rather rational and objective.
I regularly ask myself questions in my head.
"The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord." (Proverbs 16:33)
"And they prayed and said, "You, O Lord, who know the hearts of all, show which of these two You have chosen to take part in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place." And they cast their lots, and the lot fell on Matthias. And he was numbered with the eleven apostles." (Acts 1:24-26)

This is why you test them, to see whom you are speaking to. Always, cross reference with what they say with the Word. The ones who are of light will be more than delighted to point out scripture to back up with what they say.
1 Thess.5:20-22, "Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good."
Mt.7:15-16, "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits…"
1 John 4:1, "Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world."
