Do you guys realise that often someone who is of different ethnicity wouldl ike to call themselves 'american' (using the USA as an example) but when they try to claim this they get shot down.

For example, i am half scottish half malaysian by blood but have been in Australia for the last 11 years and am a citizen and am pretty much 'Aussie'. But sometimes if i say i'm australian people will say 'no your not your an asian'...

I dont really care either way, nationality to me means squat... but thats just and idea of why people may not claim themselves to be 'American'... coz i dont even bother saying i'm australian nowadays, Basically coz i dont care what nationality i am coz it wont change who i am

its just a label calling yourself American or white or English or whatever ....we are all human beings so stop and start living life!!
