What is this? Elenin got hit by some strange pulse and change it's direction?

I have never seen a hurricane change direction either but Irene did.

Lol, what? Hurricanes constantly change directions, that's why when they release the trajectory it is the PRESUMED trajectory and can change based on various factors, like Irene.

What happens to the trajectory if it has in fact split in two?

I agree. I am also sick of inconsistencies. Yesterday I hear it is disintegrated, just a cloud of dust left, now today we see it is whole. Now it may be split in two, but changed direction. Every day is something new with elenin. And you can't even see it on the camera, cause the quality has dropped so bad, what caused that?

See that's your problem, only random idiots on youtube are saying that stuff. The fact is that it appears to have split up, which isn't unheard of at all. No one, at least from a scientific stand point, said it "disintegrated" but, as with the crazy jacknuts, there is a grain of truth to their insane ramblings.

It appears, from observation, that it split up. It is POSSIBLE that it will completely disintegrate when it gets close to us, as other comets have.

No one said it did, only idiots who don't even understand the basics.

Nasa stated that it will not encounter any "dark objects" so it's trajectory shouldn't be perturbed, so I'd assume the two segments would continue on that trajectory.

We're talking basic science here, an object in motion wants to stay in motion, and since we're talking about something in space, it's momentum won't change unless it encounters a gravitational pull from something, which nasa says is unlikely.

I know I know, Nasa is satan worshipping Nazi liars.

Yet the nutz constantly use NASA trajectory simulators and NASA provided images, to prove their "theory". It's quite hilarious.

I still cannot help but feel there is more to this comet than we're being told. Add all the conflicting coverage over the last few days and it just heightens my 'hunch'.

I'm not on board with the theories out there, but there's just this little 'thing' about the whole Elenin situation that doesn't sit right with me.

I've never known a hurricane not to change direction! I've even seen some double back on themselves. Il;ve seen them turn 90 degrees. A couple of years back a typhoon hit Taiwan, circled round, back out to sea, and came back for a second try!

And I'm pretty sure comets constantly change direction too, albeit much more subtly, as they are perpturbed by the gravitational effect of the various planets.

(If Elenin or any other comet comes close to Earth then, whilst comet won't affect us, we will affect the comet. 'Cos we're bigger. Much, much, much bigger)

ELENIN appears to have made a change in direction.

It could just be a head fake like in football. The runner fakes left and goes right. It could have been blown up by a nuke, but Nibiru would just super glue it back together again, but now it would be radioactive.

Because it's slowing down. I just realised it seems to slow down completely. Would that cause a decrease in magnitude?

The appearance of it slowing down could be caused by some sort of retrograde motion I guess. I think thats the answer.

Seriously, with all the hype this thing should be called comet Irene.
