Father slit throats of 3 daughters in 'honour killing' after they were raped by Gaddafi's troops

A Libyan father killed his three daughters after they were raped by Gaddafi's troops to lift the shame on his family, a human rights group said today. The girls, aged 15, 17 and 18 were allegedly assaulted by soldiers at a school in the town of Tomina, near the war-shattered city of Misrata, during a two-month siege.

The horrific story was one of a number to emerge from Misrata after the group sent in a team of interviewers in June to catalogue human rights abuses just after Libyan forces expelled Gaddafi loyalists. Researchers from PHR were also told that Gaddafi's men: Forced numerous civilians to act as human shields; perched children on top of tanks to deter Nato attacks & Used rape as a weapon of war with deadly consequences.'One witness reported that (Gaddafi) forces transformed an elementary school into a detention site where they reportedly raped women and girls as young as 14 years old,' the report noted.

Researchers also heard reports of suspected honour killings - including the murder of the three sisters by their father. But PHR also noted that 'some in Tomina have stood up against this practice, including a well-known sheik who has publicly advocated for raped women and girls to be seen as brave and bringing honor to their families'.

What the hell can you say? I think the Father must be nuts.... I can't imagin he didn't take care of them after such horror!!! Killing them was the easy way out-in my opinion.

I have a terrible scene going on in my head as to how he could do this to his own children. Especially in such a crazy time that they should have been leaning on each other to get through the ordeal... not killing them. What did that get him?

Poor girls. I wonder what will happen to the father? nothing I suppose. Just crazy. what about the kids mother/brothers/other siblings? Did they help the dad or fight the dad? or worse---just stand by.

What the heck is wrong with that part of the world. If their God is the "God" of men/human race... then I don't want any part of that God. I'll take my chances on my own. And my kids will to.

I wonder if the father then picked up arms and went after the attackers? Did he fight or not?

I am sure this won't be the most horrible story to come out from that mess but it has to be in the top 10. Shame.

Hopefully they are in God's arms and being taken care of at another level....

Disgusting, not much more I can add really.

I think the odds of this whole thing being factual are nil but that said this would be more about alleviating the father's pain in being humiliated than anything to do with the daughters. He murdered his daughters so he didn't have to look at them anymore. He'll probably end up being a magistrate or head of education.

at this point I don't trust any report being published in the MSM pertaining war crimes.

Till now everything that was covered turned out to be a lie.
- Raped woman in hotel
- Gadaffi bombing.

I literally cannot understand the reasoning behind this. There's shame on his daughters because THEY were sexually assaulted? And then murdering 3 women that are already traumatized, just longing for future days of peace... This is really depressing...

This guy is going to have to live with the guilt of killing his own children whom he should've been there for in such a time of despair. What a pitiful excuse for a father; and a person overall.

It really shows the cultural gap between that place and where I'm from in the United States. The "honor killing" here would be the father killing the rapist.

i´m not saying this is disinformation but the whole article is hear-say though.

and we all know how they made Gadaffi the new boogeyman.

I know that they are from a different culture and I can't begin to imagine how these people were raised. However, as a father, you couldn't force me to raise a hand, much less a blade, to my child outside of the occasional spanking. I just can't fathom how anyone, no matter what, could intentionally kill their child. I hope this father gets raped and then just has to live with it in a war camp.

As to the others that wanted pictures of the kids on the tanks etc. I don't know what to say to that. I guess we'll just have to see if they appear.

All MSM stories about the PTB's dictator-of-the-month ARE SUSPECT. I watched them doing this during the first 'Gulf War' with "the babies thrown out of incubators by Saddam's soldiers" which was a BOGUS CIA-fabrication.

Listen, I know insane mentally unstable people do crazy things. Clearly, that's what the father was. I'm talking about the story itself. This little snippet sort of sums it up...

It added that it had found no evidence to confirm or deny reports that Gaddafi troops and loyalists were issued Viagra-type drugs to sustain their systematic rapes.

That's what MSM does these days. They plant seeds such as this in the minds of readers or viewers.

So other than info we are fed through MSM and so called "live at the scene" news reports, do you actually know what happened over there? Do you know if Gaddafi really did what they said he did?

To me it seems NATO has cause more harm than good, they killed civilians , some of which were children, with their random bombings on what they "claim" were government buildings..

Goes right along with msnbc alleging Gaddafi is using children to protect his tanks.. Gee I wouldn't doubt if Gaddafi killed Jesus too, and he uses dolphins as slave labor, kill him!
