You are right there,it is time that you and the rest of the parasites who have benefited from Scotland's oil revenue"pulled out",we would be a far better country without you.

Just curious

Not having a go, but what do you think of the disparity in terms of prescription and uni fees?

As I see it, we gain nothing from north sea oil, look at the prices at the pump. We import more than produce so therefore we are getting screwed.

Err, no you wouldn't....and I doubt very much that I, like the majority of people in England - certainly North East England where I live, have benefitted anything from North Sea Oil.

Yes, we should be proud of our individual national identities but it's time that we concentrated on the many things that unite us rather than the few things that divide and take this Union and turn into something to be proud of instead of the cesspit of greed, corruption and injustice it is becoming, again.

There is definitely a wiff of divide and conquor going on here and judging by the past few posts it serms to be working!

There has always been resentment from the jocks to the english but the rhetoric seems to be growing.

Alex Salmond must be rubbing his hands with glee.

In all seriousness,I do think that the English get a hell of a raw deal these days,as you mentioned ,the disparity in the tuition fees and prescription charges really annoys me too, especially when Scottish and EU students benefit from an essentially free education whilst any English students still need to pay.I mean where is the fairness in that kind of system?
As for my original post, just a bit of friendly banter with our English friends
It's not just England that needs a revolution we need to band together on this one.

Our once great country is in tatters because we have grubby-fingered corrupt politicians running things.

They are deceitful, underhanded liars and crooks who have been fraudulently claiming huge expenses - if you and I commmitted fraud on such a scale we would undoubtedly be in jail, but they get to keep their liberty.

They are supposed to be trustworthy, honest and upstanding members of our society, but they have shown themselves to be just criminals with posh accents. What chance does our country have with these incompetents in charge?

Such hypocrites as these will never gain my respect nor my vote - I don't want criminals running my country.

Britain used to be a world leader, and look were it is now. The progressive movement has brought them to there knees. The sad part it is you cant do a thing about it. You guys and gals are truly screwed.

You could always become part of France or Germany.

Did we? Because last time I checked, we weren't benefiting from it, we weren't getting cheaper fuel, and we weren't getting any jobs out of it.

I can't stand this "we have to be united" crap. They hate us, they don't even hide it any more, yet we are the ones who have to keep quiet. This isn't friendly banter, it's a serious case of disparity that the people of England have allowed to build up, to the point where we pay for their prescriptions and university fees. Then they have the nerve to say that after all of that, we still have to pay fees, well # the lot of them.

Take your dresses, your nasty food, your horrid accents and get lost.

To be fair, undergraduate degrees have been devalued over the past 20 years to the extent that most are worthless. Perhaps it's a good thing we have less people going to university...

And by the way, the current state of the UK is the legacy of Tony Blair and New Labour, not the current government.

I think you will find this all started when maggy thatcher the milk snatcher systematically broke down our communities and condemed a generation of people to a life of no hope. Not to mention selling off all our assets such as British gas, electric, rail ect ect and i beleive you will find she was a conservative so nothing changed there then.

I could go on and on, but I see no way out it.

And how would a revolution make it any better?

We need to wake up and start working for ourselves and stop relying on everyone else to do everything for us and expetcting to be paid to sit around eating pizzas all day.

Which, come to think of it, would be quite a very big revolution .....

Shame she never fully destroyed the unions though, now us Londoners have to put up with that bald, pie scoffing tub of lard Bob Crowe shutting down our transport system whenever a feckless tube worker gets sacked.

Absolute rubbish, the current government have their hands well and truely tied due to the size of the defacit left by 13 years of Labour overspending. Further Education is not a right it is a priveledge and those that have enough talent will get a bursary to pay the majority of their fee's. The Universities in the UK are the laughing stock of the rest of the world at the moment because their standards are so poor. Too many kids pushed through that do not have the capacity to learn at that level and the reason why they all end up stacking the shelves at tesco's rather than actually doing something with their Media Studies degree.

You ought to thank your lucky stars that this government got in otherwise we would be queuing up at the line for the IMF ready to ask for a handout.

This government would love to have free University education and spend money in all the areas that you complain about but if we do not have the money, what do you propose we should do. How about a tax rise? would you be up for new bandings on income tax to pay for your fantasy? lower rate say 30% ?

Keep on living in cloud cuckoo land believing that everything in life comes for free if you like but the sooner you realise that the gravy train has been and gone the better. It is people like you that are bringing the nation down, not the government. Your quest for a free living is what has nearly bankrupted us. Ask yourself how is it that the largest ecconomy in the world (USA) has a lower credit rating than the UK and that it is widely known that UK Bonds are the safest bet in the world at the moment. But that doesn't give you anything for free so I suppose you will ignore everything I have said.

You mean the last time the Tories had to take unpopular action to save the country from bankrupsy, which they inherited from Labour. Yeah thats a fine example.
