I recently took a big dump in the toilet and upon observation of my own feces I yelled out "Holy Jesus!!!"...Does that make me Christian? Just asking.

The problem is, many people take only one source as truth and then stop, build religion around one idea. The point is not to stop until you get to the root. When it's all sifted, the root is easily seen as the Living Word of God--Jesus. Follow the root to the source and you find God as the Father of it all. Jesus said He is the way, truth and life. The way is the Eastern concrete thought process. The truth is the Western abstract. The life is the connection between provided by Jesus (Logos / Word / Wave of creation).

Good Morning my sweet brother!!! xoxoxo (kisses and hugs for ya this am)

I quoted the above because for me, this is where we find even more Truth. You never stop searching even when you have found the root of Love..... and even IF you wanted to stop...Truth continues revealing itself to you through the Creation. Creation has not stopped. There IS A PLAN that we little grasshoppers cannot grasp. We think in "human" terms and although one can say that is all we know, I say no it's not. We know a lot and we are becoming more aware. Awareness is KEY!

Sadly, It seems as though there are many people who have stopped searching. Did they stop searching or are they just "goat headed" and unwilling to believe that God is indeed "good" all the time?

If one has a heart that is seeking Truth within the reality of soul/spirit/consciousnesses then you find the Creator ...the One within and abroad. For some (me) it is common sense. So ...when I see ones making jokes and simply "not getting it" my mind is boggled. I understand we all experience and we all experience different roads and u turns and so on....but if a heart is sincere about finding the Love of God....He will assuredly find It!

I love that you are consistent with your Word's Superior Ed and had I not journeyed as long as I have I may not know this Truth and I thank God for men like you who are not afraid to talk the God talk! Amen!

Peace and love to you and yours!!!!! xoxoox

How.

The 'intelligent design' concept is dead and buried a long time ago, though some appear to be ignorant about this, or possibly ignores it in the hope that the gullible will by it.

Quote: ["There IS A PLAN that we little grasshoppers cannot grasp."]

So a 'god of the gap' conveniently can be included, because there MUST be SOME explanation.

Quote: ["Awareness is KEY!"]

An awareness where any predetermined answers are brought into the process from the start isn't 'awareness'. It's mindset self-reinforcing of doctrines.

Quote: ["Sadly, It seems as though there are many people who have stopped searching."]

You stop searching the second you put the answer before the facts.

Quote: ["Did they stop searching or are they just "goat headed" and unwilling to believe that God is indeed "good" all the time?"]

'Holier than you' is just an attitude, not a functional tool.

Quote: ["For some (me) it is common sense."]

A respectable, subjective position. Nothing more.

Quote: ["So ...when I see ones making jokes and simply "not getting it" my mind is boggled."]

Different criteria, different methodologies, different mindsets....anyone wanting to communicate about it must consider these hurdles and find a common platform to start from. Preaching doesn't do it.

Quote: ["but if a heart is sincere about finding the Love of God....He will assuredly find It!"]

With or without hearts, intellects or whatever anyone determined enough can rationalize a predetermined goal. Even a completely absurd goal.

My heart rejoices together with yours, brother Racasan.

When I close my eyes, amidst all the rejoicing, I can hear divine, soft italian noddlarian bistro music, which indicates that I'm in for a moment of inspiration on how to refine my circle-arguments and add another point to my list of pro-pastafarian proofs.

As you know, I have in the course of my theological interests also on occasion leaned on the methodology of napkin'ism, which while it isn't a recognized religion yet, at least is a housebroken version of the epistomological branch of philosophy.

Maybe you have some comments on that, while the rejoicing-effect still inspires inspiration.

Ramen and hail Eris.

PS For everybody else: I really MUST point out, that I AM representing a religion and its perspective. That it is somewhat un-orthodox and in conflict with other religions is common in theist contexts, and no reason for snide comments.

You said, " blah blah blah"

You just don't get it.

If someone talks about God to you, you call them preachers.

Your objective view of every sentence someone lays before you is your own judgement...that's on you.

I am not "holier" by any means ....I just find some have no common sense what so ever! I have many friends who are intellectually smart, however when it comes to common sense...they lack. That does not mean I am better....just means they are lacking in common sense where as I lack with "book smarts". Its a yin and yang.

I like to learn from all points of view and I believe you know mine and I know yours.

You do not believe in God....ok. I do. We disagree.

I'm sure Bogomil won't mind me responding to your comments (which i resent)

Throughout the thread Bogomil has approached debate in a highly pleasant, and neutral manner, being (or at least appearing) very humble in what WE (as a species) currently know about the universe/reality (and it's cause, if any)

From what i gather, Bogomil appears to be very aware of what he doesn't understand. That's what makes a person humble. The too often solipsistic essense of the faith-based mentality is what I despise.

As Bertrand Russel once said:-

The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.

Have you ever thought that God did not cause this...and that God does not interfere with the "Human Will"?

I find nothing LOL about anything you laid out before us in your post.

My step-son passed from Leukemia. You think I am running around saying God did it? Nope...I haven't. This is the world we have created. We meaning MAN. It can really be traumatic at times... especially when you watch a child slowly die and be in so much pain there is no relief. God didn't do it. God has nothing to do with our choices. This is why we must ALL work together for the ultimate cause so we may reap the ultimate effect! It took that experience of a nightmare to awaken my family to the fact of WHO GOD really IS and who He isn't. The journey continues......

Peace and love to you and yours!!! xoxoxo

I did respond to your comments above....which I resent but...I will forgive you because you cannot understand what you do not know.

I was only higlighting the contradictory nature of the statements by SuperiorEd, where he alluded to the fact that "GOD" offers an equality of love to all his "creations".

My step-son passed from Leukemia.

I'm incredibly sorry to hear that. That truly is heart sinking.

You think I am running around saying God did it? Nope...I haven't.

Good, neither do I. Again, i was highlighting the seemingly irrational comment made by the OP.

This is the world we have created. We meaning MAN. It can really be traumatic at times... especially when you watch a child slowly die and be in so much pain there is no relief. God didn't do it.

Of course, I don't believe this either (as i don't believe in a deity) but how would you repond to the problem of evil?

1. God exists.
2. God is omnipotent, omniscient, and perfectly good.
3. A perfectly good being would want to prevent all evils.
4. An omniscient being knows every way in which evils can come into existence.
5. An omnipotent being, who knows every way in which an evil can come into existence, has the power to prevent that evil from coming into existence.
6. A being who knows every way in which an evil can come into existence, who is able to prevent that evil from coming into existence, and who wants to do so, would prevent the existence of that evil.
7. If there exists an omnipotent, omniscient, and perfectly good being, then no evil exists.
8. Evil exists (logical contradiction).

God has nothing to do with our choices. This is why we must ALL work together for the ultimate cause so we may reap the ultimate effect! It took that experience of a nightmare to awaken my family to the fact of WHO GOD really IS and who He isn't. The journey continues......

If God has nothing to do with our choices, or the weakness or lack of fairness in his creation, why call "him" God?

Peace and love to you and yours!!! xoxoxo

He does love you....no doubt he can take a "joke"... or we hope so anyway. He may be over it by now...I guess it depends on how many take his dying as a joke too. Can't feel good to be seen as a fairy tale all the time..oh well...who knows...I don't.

There are dimensions of "reality".

Earth is a lower vibration of a reality, hence "evil" resides deep within.

Evil is a "human thing". It arose out of the darkness and is confined for soul development. For humans have to know it in order to appreciate the "good".

The Universe and everything in it is a Reality each in their own right/law.

The Ultimate Goal is soul/spirit/consciousness development for the cause of Good, Light, and Love.

Earth is not only a battleground for the soul but it is also a place for quick learning. It is my belief we have been here many times. It is also my belief Awareness of who we are is key and will advance us to the next dimension without "death". This is around the corner in "time".
In "time" there are many changes and as the Earth changes....so will we.

It is hard to imagine...looking back at Joshua's illness that while researching Leukemia and everything there was to know about it back in 95-99 that while researching I found God. It is as if no matter where you read or where you look...He is there. If you seek...you will find. While learning about our cells and our bodies and the daily struggle our cells go through I remember thinking of How I may be a God to "them" (cells). As I studied the "snowball effects" of Leukemia and how the body reacts I began to feel myself even at that time searching for Him and asking questions. I always get an answer...it is as if the Universe talks back through the creation. If you listen and quiet yourself...you will hear and understand. Its so simple...yet so mystical to think the Universe is perfect within a perfect plan. WE (human) effect outcomes with our choices and they trickle on down to the collective.

Man has enslaved himself with choices that only reflect man and not God (love).

Ah yes the napkin of truth – who among us, having read it would fail to understand and believe in its message!!1!!1

There are of course some who say they don’t believe - but it’s a well know fact (at lest among those who know the fact well) that they only say that because they want to continue sinning – which is fair enough I suppose

On this subject of sin, I did here of a Middle Eastern carpenter who was nailed to some wood for our sins!!!1!1 – I don’t know much more about this belief system than that, but if he did have himself nailed to something for our sins then its up to us to sin often and long – so as to make his sacrifice worthwhile!!!1!!!

I agree and thank you for understanding my point of view as well. Some people on ATS are total diehards for religion and others are evidence-based gathering for decision-making reasons people. I don't take the dying as a joke and much is to be said for that. On the other hand people need to lighten up a bit and have an open mind to things.

I can recommend a better dictionary or translation-program for you.

Quote: ["You just don't get it."]

As the sailor said to the nun.

On a more serious note: There are just amongst religions some 50.000 versions of 'it', many of them quibbling with each other. I make priorities on my time, and choose what 'its' seem most worthwhile.

Quote: ["If someone talks about God to you, you call them preachers."]

You should be more generally around on this subforum and see what actually takes place, before making generalized statements.

Quote: ["Your objective view of every sentence someone lays before you is your own judgement...that's on you."]

From my perspective, that's a compliment.

Quote: ["I am not "holier" by any means ....I just find some have no common sense what so ever!"]

'Common sense' isn't an objective position, it varies from individual to individual. So we have a 'holier than you' version: "My common sense is better than your common sense".

Quote: ["I have many friends who are intellectually smart, however when it comes to common sense...they lack."]

That's true. Einstein had problems with finding his socks, and I personally know a global top-ten mathematician, who thinks taking a drivers licence is to complicated.

Quote: [" That does not mean I am better....just means they are lacking in common sense where as I lack with "book smarts". Its a yin and yang."]

Smarticity as a yin-yang countepart to common sense....isn't language a wonderful thing.

Quote: ["I like to learn from all points of view and I believe you know mine and I know yours. You do not believe in God....ok. I do. We disagree."]

Not believe as such. I'm a secular pastafarian. I just KNOW intellectually, by applying a special branch of homecooked 'logic', that the great noodlemaster etc is 'real'....somehow.

Unless you're the Biblical god, in which case you throw her into a dungeon and torture her for eternity..........

You are confusing the Pharacies and the Inquisitors with true faith. Anyone who steals, kills or destroys is representing evil on earth. God honors, defends and protects. For one group to be honored and defended, this implies a group being defended against.

Men use their own thoughts and motions in this reality. It pays to read Matthew Henry Commentaries when you come across passages in the Bible that do not agree with your perspective or sense of right and wrong. When something you read in the Bible is out of context with our day and age, it is not prudent to transpose this to the context of our times as if the thinking was the same. God's thinking is always the same. God acts with men in the manner of their current understanding. He does what is required by divine justice.

No you're simply incorrect, the bible clearly states that the punishment for not accepting Jesus, not being 'saved', is to burn in hell for eternity. Whether or not you choose to accept those particular verses at face value or not is irrelevant.

Evil is the label we give to acts we find particularly immoral, its not a supernatural force, or some kind of malevolent entity.

Regardless of when such an act is carried out, it is still immoral and should be considered as such. Rape 2000 years ago is still abhorrent, genocide carried out 2000 years ago is still repugnant and torturing people forever because they didn't believe something for no good reason, is probably the most immoral (or evil) act ever conceived.

The pathetically weak excuses thrown around in the attempt to justify those and other similar writings in the bible are almost as horrific as the actions themselves.
