This picture was taken in Puerto Rico shortly after Hurricane Irene ravaged the island. Yes, that’s a shark swimming down the street next to a car, and this is exactly why authorities in NYC are warning people not to go swimming in flood waters after a hurricane. Sharks go where fish go, and fish go where water goes, and if that water (and those subsequent fish) happen to be right outside your front door, then guess where that freakin’ shark’s going to be?!

egotvonline.com...

*gulp*

If there's one that big swimming around your front door, who's to say there's not one even bigger around the corner?

*Splish splash, I was taking a bath...*

The last thing youd expect to happen when wading through flood waters to clear up.

And authorities wonder why we get pissed when they disarm us after a hurricane or flood?

Ain't no sledgehammer going to take care of that beast!

WP said it was fake yesterday.
www.washingtonpost.com...

A photo of a shark swimming down a Puerto Rico street flooded by Hurricane Irene has been making the rounds online. It was posted on Reddit, picked up by Web sites and broadcast on a TV station in Miami, which is not surprising. I mean, a shark on the streets! This seems too cool to be true! That’s because it is. Google “shark,” and up pops a great photo of a shark stalking a kayak from a 2005 issue of Africa Geographic.. Commenters on Reddit, where the photo seems to have originated, quickly noted this and the very real similarities between the two sharks (note the small circular shadow just below the shark’s belly.)

BS. I read your story and those two photos have nothing to do with each other.

The shark is different and the water color and setting is WAY different.

'Fake' photo or not,it's quite the eye opener. Yikes!

I remember after Katrina, seeing film of so many people wading, swimming and rummaging around in that dark horrible water and thinking "My gods, there could be ANYthing lurking in there" and I wasn't thinking of toxins, debris and bacteria.

Either way,trippy pic OP

No its definently the same image. It lines up 100% and isn't very hard to tell its exactly the same. I
'm a professional graphic designer and work in photoshop all the time. Changing the color of the shark is basic.

Hey, just because you were mentioned on the Mysterious Universe podcast (even if they DID call you greeny-d-leo...) doesn't mean you're always right!

Then again, given the perfectly-matching wave distortions on the right pectoral fin...I think you're right on this one, likely. Good catch.

It is definitely the same shark.
The water distortion is exactly the same in every area, even the bubbles are the same.

GREAT CATCH>>>no pun...if OP looks at his/her photo he/she will see that the water/wave is on top of the sharks fin.

had me fooled

till i scrolled down

and saw the grey-white color behind the eyes lower down on the shark is strikingly identical, along with everthing else as far as shape, turbulence around it and such

Could have been a great hoax if they didn't use one the first shark pictures on google.

I don't think that they are warning people to stay out of the water due to predators..but likely the raw sewage and other contaminants that the water picks up.

Peace

BS. It is the same shark.
The only difference is the people that did the Hoax photo stuffed up and placed the photo shopped shark, fully underwater, the shadow of its fin on its body is a dead give away imo, and then they couldn't even blend the water colour in properly.
Also judging from the allegedly "real" photo the car should be in the water when shot was taken.
