Are you sure you read the thread? It has been mentioned several times. In fact, page 13(after your response) has someone already postulating that these are alien craft.

If you mean the "reply to" part of my post, then yes that was a mistake. But it was obvious my comment wasn't directed at that person...

And what IS contributing? I posted a comment about something I find is a peculiar oversight in so many UFO sightings that are attributed to extraterrestrials.

I can understand how people are getting confused over this (as was I by the title of the youtube video,) but the lanterns were launched on the 26th. The day before the hurricane bands reached NYC

I believe as I have already stated that they are defo Chinese lanterns .However that video is from ( the original )YORK in the UK Not New York US.

I saw a video of these last night, it was a video with about 3-4 different clips of the same thing in New York from 3-4 different areas in New York.

If someone hasn't said this already or posted this, I will find the video and post it in here.

The title is "UFO's captured over New York Last night 8-26". The opening post is asking what people think. I read a few responses pertaining to aliens, and I pointed out a glaring oversight in their E.T. theory. Is there a posting rule I missed that says you can't challenge what someone says in a discussion thread?

I think you read something you didn't like and are now lashing out at me. Or maybe my wording came off as too condescending? Either way, you are calling me out on something that is perfectly on topic with this thread.

I think you missed the part where I typed that it was a RESPONSE (as if it needs to be stated) to those saying these lights in the sky were E.T. Is responding to a few posts dealing with the same subject considered off topic? Are you the arbiter of discussion threads and what people should say?

They are Chinese Lanterns! As an amateur astronomer I frequently get to debunk UFO sightings. People please engage critical thinking mode and search first for a rational explanation, the most likely and simplest is usually true.

Reguardless.....whether it is real or lanturns....it is not proof. I have been saying this for awhile....while I an in a.....position....to know that E.T. is a reality....and that this is a half way decient video....it really is not proof. There has been videos and even testimony by Astronauts that is much greater in creadence to proof than this and you know what it means....NOTHING!

E.T. will be debunked and those who claim contact...ridiculed....to the extent and degree that even something or some event....witnessed or recorded....on a proof positive scale.....still....it will STILL make no difference. Remember what happened after E.T. buzzed the White House and Capitol building in the 50's....it caused mass Hysteria and made HEADLINES such as.....UFO INVASION!

It MADE NO DIFFERENCE WHATSOEVER. It was debunked....explained away....and people forgot about it in just as short a time. This is not so much due to how good my associates are....but rather HOW PEOPLE WHOULD RATHER DISMISS A FACT OR LIFE ALTERING EVENT....rather than deal with it's implications.

People who post here feel that people are ready....maybe the people here are...or think they are....but they ARE NOT! And if people such as the ones who post here are not....imagine how UNREADY....the rest of the Human population is.......they are NOT READY!

What makes people think that a civilization that can travel accross space into huge distances would NEED to use some lights of any kind ? We have infrared vision and other night vision technologies already... Why wouldn't they ?

The Chinese Lanterns I have seen extinguish after about 5 minutes while they are in the air so don't think they will be starting fires unless some fool releases them in a tinder dry forest! That is on a par with the cigarette butt throwers, non-campfire extinguishers and other assorted imbeciles. Unfortunately we just have to survive these folks, at least until eugenics becomes legal :-)

This is an amazing find! And it gets even more amazing with all the different witness videos that show the same thing. There is something going on here and is sure as hell isnt some balloons or lanterns that just happen to make a formation. I am not saying it is ET, but it is definitely something guided by intelligence.
As for those that want to say that in the event ET are visiting us "Why don't they turn off their lights?" or "They are supposed to be advanced, they don't need lights", stop getting hung up on why they would or wouldn't do something and look at the fact that these things are happening and it is being recorded around the world.

Laturns seem unlikely as I know it was raining and even if it was between showers....the objects travel is not consistant with a floating lanturn...lighter than air....moving with any wind at that altitude. Split Infinity
