thanks for fixing the vid. i feel stupid to ask but are u guys who are suprised of deaths, being sarcastic? i had to ask.

anyways, i myself am clueless as to how many or how few people will be lost to this tropical storm/hurricane.

considering that its currently cat 1 but could go higher or lower, by the time it reaches the *much* more densely populated areas north of DC.:

That's not the fault of the hurricane really, guy could have had a heart attack anytime.

Deathtoll should be as a direct result of the storm

thats just it, the 2 sides of the storm to different peoples. theres the young daredevils that get off on the endorphin and adrenaline rush.

then they're the neurotic and/or unfortunate people that end up in harm (and death's way) despite taking some precautions.

this one is looking so unpredictable, at least how the media is making it out to be "Extreme" threat level even though its 'just' a Cat 1 right now.

which makes me conclude anything higher than Cat 1 for NYC metro area would be deemed catastrophic!

RIP Irene victims, lets pray/hope the numbers stay low low low!

i agree, but tell that the system/media, it considers his death as part of the Irene's toll:

This.

Seriously though, I see people freaking out over this storm. Yes, you're going to get a bunch of rain, its a hurricane.

Again, you're going to get some wind, it's a hurricane.

Are you likely to die in this moderate storm (as far as hurricanes go)? No

True, definitely sad when anyone dies prematurely in a natural disaster.

However - let's count our blessings with the decreased strength of this storm and what TYPE of storm it is. Imagine if a strong tornado were set to roll through the same path...*untold* devastation would be likely, once we get to any sort of city scenario - especially the NYC metro.

I live in Delaware .. there have been reports of at least 3-4 tornadoes with in 15 minutes of me. Every river, creek and body of water is expected to flood higher than ever before. It really isn't something to take lightly. We are not used to this type of weather what so ever.

Stay safe out there, cheebie. Hopefully your home isn't sitting too low so as to avoid flooding issues, and you can get underground if needs be. If you're under tornado warnings, don't freak out, but do NOT play around with it either - get safe.

I live in Oklahoma, and we get tornadoes fairly regularly. Underground is best if possible. Will keep you all in my prayers - wasn't trying to make light of the situation, just glad it's not worse as it easily could have been. Take care and God bless.

First guy - decided to be out in the weather

Second guy - decided to be out in the weather

Third guy - that's terrible

Fourth guy - chances are he decided to be out in the weather. I could be wrong.

Stay indoors people! It may seem harmless, but that doesn't mean you should run around like wild animals. It's still dangerous.

And theres the whole giant tide that i'm concerned about.

I swear 2011 is some sort of a bad joke so far, be careful guys ,
I'm also concerned about the fact many cities are gonna be vulnerable, there will be massive power outage, comm. problems, plus the usual canes stuff and i've notice a few posts talking about tornadoes.

I'm confident its gonna be alright but my level of optimism is fading as the year goes by.

I just heard there's 10 now.

It sucks hearing about children dying. The surfer dude kind of had it coming, but kids getting bashed by trees is pretty crappy.

Hope everyone stays safe.
