this song was out in my birth year LOL and i used to sing it as a kid there is probly video somewhere of me as a little Grom jamming out to it.

Well believe it or not.. I've never checked what was Number one when I was born.. But go figure, it happens to be Tequila by the Champs, and yes I have those shoes too in the closet.

Great post OP! I'm glad to see such a range of music from this.. its even given me a few new musicians to delve into more deeply, especially some of the ones from before my time. I've found as I've been getting older, I like music that goes further and further back before I was born so thanks to all the old fogeys on here who have such classical origins
