Police have now evacuated houses up to 100m from the suspected bomb in the Old Dover Road in Canterbury. More sirens have raced pass my house.

The lot of em in that pic seem to be having a jolly good time! That's good at least!
Except the big guy in the blue shirt.

BBC News latest

Army bomb disposal experts were called to what was believed to be an explosive device in Old Dover Road, Canterbury.

But at midnight Kent police confirmed it was a false alarm.

Hopefully the other suspicious package is also a false alarm.

Be interesting to see how this pans out. Who is to blame etc.

Just watching twitter on this one. Turns out the bomb on the train line was an 'elaborate hoax' but there is an 'ongoing situation' at the cricket ground which was evacuated.

The BBC are reporting it as a hoax. Anyone can stick a box in a bin and ring the police.

Mountains. Molehills.

Just got back. Was evacuated last night.

The fire in Marks and Spencer was, according to the police, caused by a device. As for the railway lines, police said it was quite similar to those hoaxes in Northern Ireland - sophisticated device, but not designed to go off.

Er, what? The BBC and the Murdoch crowd are so far apart they might as well be on different planets. Murdoch hates the Beeb! If I misunderstood, I am sorry, but it seems to me your claiming the BBC is controlled by Murdoch?

It's a fake bomb alert, happens quite often. I remember having to evacuate my house in Germany at 4am once because someone found a thermos flask in the street.. Had to wait for Army Bomb Disposal to blow it up before they realised it was just a flask.

Police say it is too early to say if group or individual are responsible for #canterbury hoax. They had several calls re suspicious devices

Police have confirmed a suspicious device was found at m&s #canterbury last night in baby changing area. They say it was fake.

Lost me there. The BBC is not Murdoch.

Regardless. It was all a hoax. It happens more often than most people may think.
