What the... my first re-direct from ATS and weird music when I used 'Alert'!!

Okay, I just had my first case of being re-directed from ATS to another website! Really random as I was reading post in a thread, not even refreshing the page or touching the mouse. Here is where I was directed to:

And right before this happened, I was using the 'alert' feature to recommend a member for an applause for his newest thread. When I was directed to the 'alert' box, loud, obnoxious music and talk began playing and I wasn't able to find any way to stop it until I exited the alert feature!??

I never have any trouble on ATS.....just strange happenings today?

you alerting people, about something,, that your not ,supposed too alert people about?

Happened to me about 30 mins ago too. I clicked on a thread in the Rant forum & was redirected to the same page. Here's the weirdness on my end. The page fully loaded & it is no where in my internet history.

Okaaaaaaaayyyy...it is definitely in my history, and so is another video called "The Rugged" I have never heard of! They are both right in between my views of ATS thread about the Epidemic on the train. That is sooooooo weird.....

I guess maybe that music was that rugged video playing? It was not open on any window on my PC that I could find, and I couldn't make it stop until I exited ATS!!

I got a rediret the other day when i was on ATS and i know some of the add servers here have been up to no good in the past and i was about to give ATS a good slagging only to find it was not ATS fault and something was on the machine i was using was sending me to a site for all 404 links.

go to another site and then edit the URL to something like ThePageXXX.html and see what happens

that bloody advert on the top keeps dropping down long before the mouse is over the advert and needs to be stopped and if anyone thinks i'm so stupid as to give Google a phone number so they can verifiy my account, all for my protection of course just so i can google plus a page here must be on drugs or something.

would be nice to see this site google free because they are worse than big brother but the admin here don't seem to care.

Well maybe i can help you on this one.

Some sites send you all over the place using iframes because the HTTP resuest for a IFrame looks the same as clicking a link so it makes it look as if lots of people are viewing site 'A' that links to site 'B' and all that google spyware picks this up and uprates both site 'A' and 'B' in search results.

i'm a bit of a master at that trick but not for the reasons you think

Just in case SO looks over this thread and wants an accurate number of members it affected, it got me too, approx 30 mins ago. I closed it because I thought it was just me clicking an ad by mistake. Apparently not.

OK..... now I got the audio.

It sounded like some sort of movie report, and I was getting two different streams at the same time, layered over each other.

I took screen shots of the activity from the browser......

Also... while this was happening the top left skyscraper ad space was completely blank.

Just last night I was trying to comment on someones thread and when I hit the reply button I was redirected to Crackle.com as well. WTF?

Just got redirected two minutes ago to crackle, never heard of it. Was on the recent posts page. Not fixed yet I guess.

Just happened again.

The same thing just happened to me and I haven't been here in a week or so.

This has been a headache for me for the last 4 days. Clicking on this thread re-directed me to crackle. It first started with audio and audio on top of that, now only crackle. My ad-ware removal caught 297 Friday. Getting ready to clean again.

I just got the redirect at 2:33pm central. About an hour after your post from what I can tell.

OR you maybe have spywares in your computer
that are programmed to do just that randomly
