NEW YORK (MarketWatch) — Think your fuel bill is too high? Have a look at the U.S. military, which spent a whopping $13 billion on petroleum last
year to keep its ships, planes and combat vehicles running.
www.marketwatch.com...
I remember some test we did to make sure our Aicraft could use a fuel which I am sure was a derivative of JP-7 which included a percentage of bio
fuel.
Obviously the article doesnt really put into perspective that the whole world is dependant upon petroleum so its just American military.
I also wonder how much higher that fuel bill would be without the nuclear powered carriers!
They mention Solar and Wind in the article and better batteries, but it makes you think what technologies could they ever use to power a M1 Abrahams
other than a gas turbine?
This would be an interesting direction for military vehicles, not just better but greener!
