MST3K or Mystery Science theater 3000 was an awesome show. I wanted to start this thread to talk about it with fans and learn more about it. I grew up watching some episodes with my dad as a kid but now I have started watching more episodes of the show. I never saw episode 1 season one. But that's probably because it was released back in 89 and they never bothered to record it for tape or something. Funny thing about that show is the point of the show is to make fun of bad movies but allot of them were not all bad. To me about 70% of the movies they played on the show I enjoyed. Has anyone ever seen the infamous episode 0? I also want to know more about that to. I was born in 89 so sadly I didn't get the chance to start watching the show from day one.

In the very early episodes when it was still a public access show, Tom Servo was originally named "Beeper". So yeah...theres a fun little factoid for ya! :-D

And thanks for starting a thread about one of my all time favorite shows!

I sadly didn't get to see it from the beginning, but as you can tell by my avie, I am a rabid fan.

You get into some sketchy territory over who was the better host, Mike Nelson or Joel Hodgson, (I prefered Mike).

The later episodes with Pearl Forrester really got me giggly, I think she was a great villian. I envied her for chasing them around the universe in a microbus.

S+F Just for talking about MST3K. I miss it terribly.

My favorite line ever. "That guy should be wearing chinderwear."

I love these shows and still watch them when I get the chance. By the way if you're not aware some of the guys still love to riff on movies. You should check out www.rifftrax.com... because it's great entertainment. I see they just put up a riff for Inception. I know what I'm doing this weekend.

Most of the episodes can be bought online.
Some of my favorites include:

Jack Frost
Prince of Space
Parts: The clonus horror
The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed Up Zombies

I've still got a pretty big collection on VHS that I recorded off of Comedy Central (complete with commercials) somewhere back in the 90's.

I favor the same seasons b. I just wish I could get my hands on episodes 0 and 1 from the CC era just to see see them. I still favor the seasons with mike and pearl. Its funny how they were messing with that one planet of the apes looking guy. What was his name?

Professor Bobo....
I really loved the episode where during the credits Professor Bobo went to make a sandwich and in so doing began slicing up Observer #2's brain. You hear the Observer screaming in agony in the background with every bite. The off kilter humor is in my opinion priceless..

Only ever got to see the movie myself, they didn't air the show on tv in the UK.

Still though, if the movie still has me laughing years after I last saw it....

I actually saw This Island Earth after that by accident and couldn't help laughing and remembering the MST3K riffs during certain scenes.

I do miss watching the show on sifi. But that's why we have netflix now. I started the final episode to see how they get back to earth. Mike and the gang finally had the balls to fly the satellite of love in a crash landing to earth and they all make it out alive! lets watch:www.youtube.com... The crazy escape attempt begins at 8:30 in the video. May the satellite of love rest in pieces.

Yea the MST3K gang would probably riff the titanic movie like that. funny video. thanks for posting. Its too bad they never got any modern movies to riff on. It would be funny to see.
