Why evacuate the pentagon and capitol?

I saw on the news that after the quake they are evacuating the pentagon and the capitol. Why would they evacuate the pentagon and capitol? I know they have quake technology. Im starting to wonder if this was a counter attack from Japan. I mean it is DC. On ATS some one is reporting that they felt it all the way up to Ontario Canada. Thats a long way for a quake to travel.

Can you run from quake? no! unless you have a plane. Very happy to see how quick DC ran, this shows that they are ready for natural causes.
