I personally would not worry, as I don't believe in a "left-behind." Thus far, this puzzle has taught me nothing new. Still mildly intrigued.

Things are never initially accepted. You are seeing right now why it hasn't been "discovered" or why most ideas never blossom. The negativity all around is what has caused separation(in humans). Individual(awareness) needing to prove to ones other self that they are right, and you(1) are wrong; forgetting completely who they actually are.

lol...nothing new to me either. These ideas were old when I was a child. And the "left-behind" wasn't meant to connotate the "rapture" in a religious sense of the word.

On Oct. 28, 2011, a group of people will attempt connection to a "higher" consciousness in an effort to a)bring about a better dimension or b)make sure that they, themselves, will be taken into this new age of Aquarius instead of being left behind in this dimension.

The Oct282011 website is an attempt to prepare us for the occasion and provide guidance on how to prepare our minds to take part in the...ceremony.

Wellll according to the ridiculously big number of webpages that discuss that date, it'll be because on that date special galactic alignments will happen (about which I've read back then when I thought the whole ascension-thing was predicted to be on 21/12/2012, not in 2011 October as Calleman has stated) like...the center of our Galaxy + the Earth + Sun if I remember correctly. Oh and maybe we'll enter a so-called photon-belt (field made of photons that somehow will affect everybody on a molecular level) and...stuff. Leaving out the religious findings because I found those ridiculous (preaching + Bible-thumping lol). According to the theories, these "end times" will cause never-before-seen happenings that could cause everyone to panic ( e.g. dimensional anomalies, like strange object and/or beings appearing? Can't quote becaue I don't know where I've read these.... )

And the whole october28-site project looks to be some kind of preparation for us so that we welcome these future events with love and peace and the like. Because then we resonate on a higher frequency (no idea how this works, I'm no physics expert) so that we avoid the global cataclysm that would happen if we were all gloomy and full of fear (causing us to to react with lower frequency). And -maybe- the 100th monkey - theory could work if it was to happen like this...
