Star to Nikinga for a nice post. I too don't get why people are so harsh when others post things. Sometimes it seems if one doesn't agree with the whole, their beliefs are 'worthless' and 'trash' and they're lying.

Awful way to show community in a place which is to be about keeping open minds and so on. Just goes to prove that no matter where one goes, there are always those who have to be the pee in the snow.

Guys - not everyone has heard of John Titor like not everyone has heard of Deepak Chopra or Ken Livingstone or Russel Grant.

But I get the impression from the OP that he 'has' heard of Titor and is hence worried that he's gonna take flak for it.

Love time travel fantasies so I'm a sucker for such stories. After some reading must admit it has to be some kind of elaborate hoax, in the manner of Dark Knight also popular on ATS (Dark Knight's story being far more realistic and scary though).

As to OP I must admit I would go crazy catching such transmission on a radio. Also if the OP was a victim os some joke, strange thing is someone exploiting Titor's story adter all these years... who knows?

Ooooh off topic a bit what what's this Dark... was it Knight? I want to check it out! Scary? Future? hoax but still sounds an interesting read?

Most people here are far more polite.

And to say there is zero chance that someone would hear something on the radio? bull crap....for the OP it may have only lasted a minute..but there is no telling how long the transmission was in fact going on before they shut it off. If your just turning through your dials and its going on? how is that zero chance? It doesn't mean the OP was the only one to hear it...it just means..they were the only one to hear it..and knew of a place where they could ask.

I'm not even coming close to saying I believe the transmission was from 2035,6, whatever...Anyone can get on an AM transmission and say I'm from 200000....blah blah blah. But I still don't see where anyone has the right to say

1. everyone has heard of John Titor
2. you have zero chance of hearing a radio transmission
3.LIAR

seriously...look up the words "consideration" in the dictionary..seems to me you would need to focus on that a bit more than who knows who.

Oh, I know that..I mr-lizard I do..but I'm PMSing and stressing because my mother and grandparents are coming this weekend and I have three tornadoes that each have the name house destruction, so my bull# meter is a bit off. normally these things wouldn't bother me, but days like this come around and the filter over my hands and tongue just seems to come off.

Ha! I had a handheld Radio Shack scanner a few years back that included the cell phone freqs. I could hears peoples voice mail playing in a continuous loop and one of my own too!!!

And I know a guy who had a frequency generator as he called it. He could transmit on ALL radio station freqs AM or FM at will, low power of course and could open the neighborhoods garage doors and all kinds of juvenile stuff.

Do some research and you'll find these toys.

Seems to be lots of internet newbs in this thread. John Titor is a classic internet hoax.

For all of those, "No way you haven't heard of John Titor" folks.......... I had no idea who he was either. I have seen the name tossed around, and I had the general idea that he was some kind of kook, but I didn't know if it was Aliens, or Bigfoot, or any other weird hoax. Time Travel would have been one of my last guesses.

Of course, if I heard some weird radio broadcast with a name, my first response would be the Search Function on ATS! (Which is exactly what I did, and then I realized I had been personally influenced by John Titor......or vice versa? Read on!)

By the Way, speaking of Kooks, I didn't recognize the name John Titor, but I often use this part of his story in my discussions!! "When John Titor was 13 years of age he joined a shotgun infantry unit (calling themselves the "Fighting Diamondbacks") in 2011. He served with them for about 4 years, living, running and hiding in the woods and rivers of central Florida." I planned to make it a self-fulfilling prophecy by starting a biker club here in Florida called the "Fighting Diamondbacks" because all of my friends are already very comfortable with their shotguns and bikes!!

Irony to the fullest. Read some weird hoax on ATS, forget the source, but take the influence of the Hoax to create a real life brigade, and then have the original source brought back up at a later time? Spooky Stuff!!

First post here. I'm from the Ottawa region and that frequency (87.3 Mhz) seems to corresponds the the broadcasted audio signal of Global TV. I had that frequency set in my car stereo. The sound is low and heavily compressed (probably due the fact that that image signal is piggybacking the audio signal as well). I once heard the call sign of Global TV on it. I also read on this thread that it might also come from a low power transmitter used with some ipods to broadcast to a car stereo that has no aux input, that makes sense as well.
Anyhow, hope that helped.

I heard their making a film about J.Titor, could this be advertising?

It's not a rule but damn, even I knew about him and his story a few years ago and I never heard of ATS before January this year (2011 if anyone's reading this in future.......see, I'm a time traveler too in a way )

When I read the OP I had a weird feeling like it was true (hearing it on the radio that is but who knows if the Titor stuff may or may not be true too) but I'm honestly more shocked that there are people here getting handfuls of stars for not knowing possibly one of the most famous conspiracy/oddity case of all time.

Sometimes Conspiracy folks suprise me.. i have known about titor for some time,

two sigularities harnessed to allow time travel and some IBM system or similar that can process some old Computer code needed to do somthing to sort some virus for tech or somthing similar...

Maybe he was telling the truth.. and maybe the OP stumbled across his interdimensional worldline transmitions to someone else that was being amplified by the sigularities he was harnessing to time travel anyway

Chances are its someone with abig ariel and a good sense of humour though!!
