I sit here watching out country come close to default, taxes getting cut for the rich yet the middle class and the poor get the shaft and wonder if what would have happened would have occurred 200 years ago.
People back then would do more than just write to their local politician, they would gather arms and kick butt.

I think people nowadays are too scared to rise up like this and have become too comfortable with what they have.

What do you guys think, is it time to rise up? Regardless of the consequences?

Sometimes you have to rise up, in order to attain peace.

It seem that since we have become more passive, we are losing our rights slowly bit by bit.

Do you not think so?

If we rise up in arms, they win. With the underlying civil unrest, they know full well that America is a powder keg.
I know that people aren't openly taking to the streets, and for those who wish to see this it is frustrating. But please realize that we can't fight this the same way we always have. Having guns doesn't make us great. The greatest thing would be having guns and never needing to use them.

If our uprising is to be successful, it has to be like no other uprising before it. The rest of the world is waiting for Americans to lose their s#*t and start shooting everybody. This is not the way. If we rise peacefully the rest of the world will take notice and see what the American people can truly be.

Guns are great, I think everybody of sound mind should have one. But this is a war of spirit. The very spirit they are trying to kill. Old tricks won't work here. If we rise in violence, nobody will support us. If we rise in peaceful resistance we have the opportunity to open the eyes of the world.

Just my opinion, and I'm sure I'll get mocked for it.

No mocking from me, as for a non violent solution, I just don't see it.

I just see us getting rounded up to a FEMA camp one day, in a quiet manner with no resistance whatsoever.

Definately, although itll never happen...Most americans live in blissfull ignorance living like slaves while the government is screwing them..Even people who support revolution would hide like cowards from the gangsters and looters who would inevitability exploit the situation...The government has the upper hand on ALL of us and always will, its very disturbing, but also very true.

sure we lose our rights but we never had them. If a human is to give us rights they are saying we are bettter than you and no human is better. So if you take your rights back then you have them.

What rights are you looking to take back?

its odd isn't it. We have a bad economy plenty of people out of work more to come, but the people want the government to creat jobs but if we were to take down the system peacefully whats the easiest thing to do. first thing that comes to mind is to stop working.

People will resist. It is how we choose to resist that will define our nationality from that point forward. I have great respect for the founders of this nation. These times could not be more different than those.

There is a time to kill in defense, there is a time to simply defend, and there is a time to resist. We must first attempt resistance before any blood is shed. Americans have not yet accepted this. It is in the back of everybodies mind, lurking, just the thought of wether now is the time.

Its not yet time though.

There is always the "event", the metaphorical straw that breaks the camels back. It has not happened. With the event will come the realization, and with the realization will come throngs of people all coming to a conclusion that now is the time.

You have seen it in the uprisings of other countries. We have merely grown impatient.

It hasn't happened because we are not ready.

Peace isn't a magic word, unfortunately.

Evil tends to prevail in the world, and it preys upon those who are peaceful and obedient.

Want peace? Disable those which are using it as a tool in order to gain control over your civility.

Otherwise, you'll continue the downward spiral until you're eventually kissing someone's feet.

I like the idea of having control of my life, not having someone take advantage of my kindness.

It's your own choice if you want your sacrifices to be in vain.

Peace

Edit: And by the way, you don't have to 'fight' in order to attain peace. You just need to stand up for yourself, and do what's best for you and/or everyone you want to effect. Peace can be brought out with a discussion, an argument, a fight, or bloodshed. I was not implying that you start by jumping to the far end of the spectrum, just that you start.
