Just wondering, why does not all threads show on recent posts?

My Ajanta topic (Ancient civilizations) ( witch get enough attention, no problem there) just not shows up in my recent post list.

Another user also noticed his/her posts not showing.

I wonder why is that some threads lie the one I posted above (this one: Dolores Barrios: An alien or a time-traveler?) don't show up on the "Recent posts" area when someone posts in it?

Why is that?

was your post flagged? i dthink it only shows the newest flagged post, thats the conclusion that i came to anyway. i posted a thread that was never flagged and never appeared on the newest list

**Good point. Even if there are no flags i think it should show up immediately in the first column. I started a thread very recently and it didn't show until it got a number of flags, and then was on for only a short while. (It's the middle of the night for most of you, so it's not like there was a lot of competition.) I could only find my own thread by pushing the back key so I don't really know how these other people found it.
It's not like my thread was a terribly important subject, the point is your question is actually extremely important because one of the reasons I like(d) ATS is because I thought I could read things immediately as they break, ABSOLUTELY unfiltered. And I like to check for new topics, as others might, and if it never makes these lists, how will it ever be brought to people's attention in the first place?? Sometimes I notice that for ages only stupid threads keep getting started and wonder why no interesting ones have been posted?? Is there another reason?? A "Faith" topic got posted immediately and "Skunkworks" didn't? Maybe because it had the word NASA or crapped?? Are those reasons to filter or was the computer just slow from ??? solar flares ??

They will show up in the order that they were posted on the topic category page like in "religion" under new post. Also under the "my Ats" on the toolbar, the left side of the page displays the top five threads of each Ats subforum that you subscribe to, the threads that were most recently commented on are displayed... try that

It still is happening,

could it be that the Ancient Civilizations forum is excluded from the recent post page?

If you accidentally clicked on the little red tab to the right of a thread (which looks like this: (-)) It'll make all threads from that forum disappear.

If you can see something that says "Show removed forums" on the recent posts page though, near the top, click on it and It'll show the missing forums again. To add them back just click on the small green tab to the right of one of the them (which looks like this: (+) ).

Huh-I just went on Skunkworks like suggested and sure enough, there is my thread. But it said I started the thread just two hours ago?? But I actually started it around 6 hour ago. Maybe my time difference messes it up. Probably not a conspiracy-just a mystery!!

It could be. You have the option to filter the results on the most recent posts page.

You'll notice that there's a small red minus sign ( - ) at the end of each thread title. If you click it, it will remove all threads from that subforum from the page. In other words the "Ancient Civilizations forum" is shown on the recent posts page by default. Perhaps at some point you click the "Remove from List" button...

I have no idea how to get a forum back on the list, once you've removed it...?

Edit: Nevermind - Answered above by Rising Against.
