Watching it right now and they are talking about a post that was put here on ATS a while ago. It was regarding the "massive" UFO sighting a pilot saw in Anchorage, Alaska. The encounter lasted 55 minutes long. Very good show so far

thats interesting, I wonder how many of the explanations include hallucination? If hallucinations haven't been included then that leaves a much lower percentage than 5% as unexplained....

Studies of hallucinatory experience in the sane go back to 1886 and the early work of the Society for Psychical Research,[1][2] which suggested approximately 10% of the population had experienced at least one hallucinatory episode in the course of their life. More recent studies have validated these findings

Hallucinations in the sane

Hope this airs in the UK soon, I'll be watching it when it does!

Why bother, you're already rubbishing it without even having seen it yet.

Pay no attention to this post, it's probably all in your mind.

The "Anchorage, Alaska" UFO you guys are trying to debunk had NO passengers on it because it was a Japanese cargo plane. And yes, the captain and first first officer both went on record to speak and provide further details of their encounter.

Not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I expected it to be a rehash of stuff already talked to death. Was nice to see some info / incidents that i've never heard of before.

While watching I was thinking about the conversations about how Aliens should just land in the open and get it overwith, since the government wont. The thought process is thats the only way disclosure will happen. Thinking about all of the mass sightings of UFO's all over the world by people of almost every background imaginable, we still want proof.

UFO's have done everything except land and say hi, and we still dismiss the sightings while continually asking why wont they show themselves.

They are.... and for some reason, we dont comprehend it.

my 2 cents anyways... Looking forward to Ancient Aliens. I have always been curious about native america / african / south american etc tribes and their beliefs.

Should be good.

Great documentary! Too bad it couldn't have lasted longer. It would have been nice to follow up the Belgian wave with the similar craft that was seen by all of the police officers in Illinois.

Did you guys hear that unreleased phone call involving someone from from the local airforce base talking about how a Cessna was almost hit by something above the city and two jets were scrambled to investigate and encountered a massive array of five lights in a triangular formation? That was incredible and pretty much confirms that the 8:30 Phoenix lights even DID happen. But I wonder how that recording of the phone conversation was obtained.

I think the show, overall, was better documented than some of the latest (or shall I say re-runs) alien/ufo programs that I've watched.

For those that are in the UK - If I had the means of recording it, I would have done so for ya's. I'm sure it will be on Youtube or posted here by an ATS member.

Now, for the never before seen or heard, disclosure, I'm not entirely sure of that claim. I am just a novice and already had heard about the following:

Former Governor of Chicago, Symington's discloure. (Chicago)
John Callahan already discussed his meeting with Reagan's scientists and the CIA. (Alaska)

Can any of the expert researchers tell me if all of those audio files on the documentary had previous been released (such as the Arizona sightings and the Belgium Wave)?
Thanks in advance for any answers.. : )

I, as well, did not mind watching it at all. I was hoping for some big secret evidence to be revealed but it was the History Channel, right?

I also liked it in lieu of the recent hour of my life that was taken from me during - Curiosity "Alien Attack".

How I wish I had that hour back!

I enjoyed this show a lot.

Yes it repeats well known encounters... but it repeats probably the MOST important encounters to date.

What I did notice was the fact that they were conveying the message.... listen people this is real, this is not a joke. We need to really sit down and scientifically figure out who or what is visiting us. We want answers from our government. The whole show kept a serious down to business tone.. we can only hope for disclosure.

Maybe Obama was watching from Marthas Vineyard, and hopefully impacted him somehow

I might miss it so please make a note of which 'NASA astronaut tapes' they used -- the hoaxed ones or the misrepresented ones?

Here we go again, up to your usual whitewash eh Oberg?

I suppose none of these guys said any of this, and it's all a misrepresentation, hallucination or perhaps a misrepresented hallucination?

Major Gordon Cooper, Mercury Astronaut and last American to fly solo in space..quote:

Major Cooper also testified before the United Nations: "I believe that these extra-terrestrial vehicles and their crews are visiting this planet from other planets... Most astronauts were reluctant to discuss UFOs." "I did have occasion in 1951 to have two days of observation of many flights of them, of different sizes, flying in fighter formation, generally from east to west over Europe."

And:

In a taped interview by J. L. Ferrando, Major Cooper said: "For many years I have lived with a secret, in a secrecy imposed on all specialists in astronautics. I can now reveal that every day, in the USA, our radar instruments capture objects of form and composition unknown to us. And there are thousands of witness reports and a quantity of documents to prove this, but nobody wants to make them public. Why? Because authority is afraid that people may think of God knows what kind of horrible invaders. So the password still is: We have to avoid panic by all means."

Misrepresentation? Don't believe it?

Hear it from the man himself then, although i suspect you and many of your 'ilk' already have...but for the record here's Gordon in his own words:

And just in case you pretend to imagine he was somehow taken out of context, here's another interview with Gordon:

Fake tapes Oberg?

How about..

Donald Slayton, Mercury Astronaut...Quote:

1951: "I was testing a P-51 fighter in Minneapolis when I spotted this object. I was at about 10,000 feet on a nice, bright, sunny afternoon. I thought the object was a kite, then I realized that no kite is gonna fly that high." As I got closer it looked like a weather balloon, grey and about three feet in diameter. But as soon as I got behind the darn thing it didn't look like a balloon anymore. It looked like a saucer, a disk. About the same time, I realized that it was suddenly going away from me - and there I was, running at about 300 miles per hour. I tracked it for a little way, and then all of a sudden the damn thing just took off. It pulled about a 45 degree climbing turn and accelerated and just flat disappeared."

(source for external quotes: www.syti.net...)

Or Major General Robert White, X15 pilot 1962 and highly decorated American hero, who says he witnessed a UFO during a forty-eight mile high flight?
He said ""I have no idea what it could be. It was greyish in color and about thirty to forty feet away."
Then according to a Time Magazine article, Major White exclaimed over the radio: "There ARE things out there! There absolutely is!"

Or how about Joseph Walker, another X15 record breaking pilot? I guess he's was misrepresented or hallucinating when he stated in May 1962, that one of his tasks during the X15 flights, was to attempt to detect UFO's and film them for analysis? Quote: During a lecture at the Second National Conference on the Peaceful Uses of Space Research in Seattle, Washington Walker said: "I don't feel like speculating about them. All I know is what appeared on the film which was developed after the flight."

How about it Jimmy, you want to ask your controllers to make those tapes public now? Surely X15 mission film is no longer classified. I won't hold my breath waiting.

Eugene Cernan Commander, Apollo 17 lunar mission:

In a 1973 Los Angeles Times article, Cernan said: "..I've been asked (about UFOs) and I've said publicly I thought they (UFOs) were somebody else, some other civilization."

I could of course go on at some length, you know that as well as i do. The question is Jimmy, why exactly do you do what you do? On boards like this i mean..chiming in every time a topic containing the acronym 'NASA' gets red flagged, you dishonour these brave men and diminish their achievements by effectively calling them liars, and you dishonour yourself, despite any rationale you may kid yourself about 'following orders'.

I guess some men are born with the right stuff, and some simply ain't.

Misrepresented my arse! Keep it up Jimmy, and i'll keep shooting you down with something greater..truth.

I thought it was a good show. I wish more video and pictures were taken, overall.
What I am getting tired of is Ancient Aliens. All the good evidence has been explored long ago, and now they are just grasping at straws, and I'm just shaking my head over it.

Thanks, Spikey -- no surprises, same old stuff talked to death here on ATS over the years. Do some homework before you salivate too enthusiastically.

Did you see the show tonight? Interested to hear your thoughts.

Any footage from NASA you thought was falsely represented?

Is there any way that a reasonable search could lead an interested person to the 'contra' evaluations on those stories? Maybe my long-procrastinated project to do a set of 'space UFO myth' FAQs at my home page is now timely.

Well, if you havent seen the program id really suggest it. They do a great job of showing legitimate evidence, supported by science and data. One thing that suprised me is they even went over hoaxes, dissected the hoaxed evidence all over youtube and suggested to the viewer to only believe sightings that are backed by scientific data and/ or multiple witnesses..

I just finished watching the program and thought it was pretty good.

These are a few of the better UFO cases that in my opinion prove that some kind of advanced intellegence is monitoring us. It could be ET's. It could be time travelers. It could be anything, but something is watching. And this program like those before it, proves it.

I still get a laugh out of debunkers fumbling about for conventional explanations when there is none. Especially Phillip Klass on the Iran and Japan Airlines flight cases. He tried to explain them as the bright light of Jupiter? Are you kidding me?

Unfortunately during the Belgium UFO Wave segment Patrick Ferryn co-founder of the SOBEPS
Maj. General Wilfried De Brower and researcher Leslie Kean supported the now infamous UFO
photograph recently revealed was a hoax. I'm sure they didn't know about this new revelation
because this documentary must have been produced before but with so much noise the story
of the famous triangle UFO photograph / hoax produced their statements left a bad taste.

In any case it was a good two hour documentary and the audio recording released from the
Chicago O'Hare airport was very interesting. By the way NASA UFOs were absent in this
documentary.

I just finished watching the show and saw that. I agree, its a bit disheartening, but other evidence presented was interesting (the radar, witnesses, etc.) involving the Belgium wave. They seemed more than happy to point out hoaxes throughout the show so as you said, they were probably not privy to the fact the photographer admitted fakery at the time this was filmed.

Yes, they did a great job with the show. Very little sensationalism and great presentation of some historically important cases in UFOlogy. Hopefully other UFO shows take notes.
