I would like to follow on from this excellent thread regarding sleep paralysis.
www.abovetopsecret.com...

I would be very grateful if the participants of that thread could help me with my research on this subject.

All I need is the answer to one or two simple questions .

1: When you experienced sleep paralysis , was it before sleeping or upon wakening ?

2: Were you always in the same position ( ie, lay on your back or on your side ) when it occured.

Many thanks in advance.

This has happened to me twice. First time I was around 17, I woke up in the middle of the night. I couldn't move or talk. I has no idea what was happening to me. Me friend slept over that night and was sleeping on the lazy boy chair across the room from my bed. I tried to hard to yell for him to him me but I couldn't talk or move. I was scarred beyond belief. It lasted about a minute.

I am 30 now and the second time was a few years ago. I fell asleep on the couch I again woke up. But I woke up in a dream that I couldn't wake up from. Again really scary trying to wake yourself up while in a dream/nightmare. This lasted about a minute again. Both times I was sleeping on my back.

I have experienced it several times and almost every time it has happened to me in the early hours of the morning upon awakining. Although it has happened once or twice upon falling asleep.

All the times I can remember I have been laying on my side, I can say that for sure.

It happened to me the other night actually, I was laying on my right side with the front of my body facing the wall cause my bed is up against a wall, I couldn't see anything beyond the wall and my limp limbs as I struggled to move them, I remember getting frustrated and no matter how hard I thought about kicking my legs or waving my arms the thought never made it to the extremedies. I have also experienced not being able to talk or yell while in this state...The thought of yelling help i cant move was in my mind, but it couldn't seem to make it to my voicebox although my lips would move. Wierd stuff!

I used to have night terrors every so often. It would almost always end in sleep paralysis. Just recently, before actually sleeping, I went into some state of sleep paralysis. I felt as I was falling through a spinning vortex..then through the eyes of my spirit, I tried getting up and walking out of my room..but found it impossible. My normal self woke up and then I slept normally after that
