Have to disagree with you on this. The President should spend any amount of money when it comes to security and even the republicans will agree wholeheartedly with this as this issue has come up before. You can't stick the President on a greyhound bus to travel around.
WHY NOT???? Give me a realistic answer as to what a 2 million dollar bus offers that a greyhound doesn't....Other than the obvious luxury components....
Does he not still have a gazillion bodyguards at all times?? This is a luxurious trip around the country for re-election...NOTHING ELSE!!! He could care less about jobs, but that is what he has been spoon feeding us.....IT'S ABOUT THE PEOPLE....BLA BLA FREAKING BLA!!!!
Rent a car from enterprise and sit in the back seat Mr. President....I want my money put to better use

It is not an off the line bus. It has been implemented with all types of security just like every vehicle the President rides in has. What exactly those measures are is not public knowledge for very obvious reasons. You can bet that the windows are all now bulletproof and things like that however.

"The vehicle can also fire a salvo of multi-spectrum infrared smoke grenades as a countermeasure to a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) or anti-tank missile (ATGM) attack and to act as a visual obscurant to operator guided missiles.[citation needed] This is fired remotely by the USSS countermeasures Suburban which trails the limo and contains the sensors to detect the launch of such an attack"
Hey, I guess he won't be needing his spot in the bunker now!
I wonder how much it's going to auction for?

2 million...really?
What a smart shopping president...should have looked at Clintons expenses before starting this thread...2 million is nothing!
Either way Obama has cost us billions not millions....just saying!

Maybe if the President had good intentions he wouldn't need to have security. Seeings how this President has anything but good intentions he secures himself with mass amount of our money. If we had a real President he would be using this money for more worthwhile things. That is to good to be true these days though it seems.

I find it interesting how the gas prices decreased right before Beast II was rolled out.
I wonder how many gallons he's going to burn during his tour.
Mr. Obama, you're a disgrace!
EDIT to Add: oh, yeah. And it'll need oil changes along the tour, too. How could I have forgotten about that?
The 2 million dollars was just the beginning of the bill. Wait 'til the tour is complete and we see the entire bill.edit on 17-8-2011 by Afterthought because: (no reason given)
