Not saying I believe it is actually this comet that will bring the end but guarantee if it was we wouldn`t know till it was very clear we are in trouble. I figure it will be when we don`t see a tail on this thing coming at us.
I would like to see an explanation as to what these secret bunkers are all about seeming's how we are paying for them and they are massively stocking them. That to me builds the fear of something bad this way comes. Seen it on youtube so it must be so.
Now to watch youtube and get the real truth debunking this hog wash.

How did Elenin-mania begin again...?

Timing.... the media's exploitation of end-time prophecies and such made this little guy a candidate by virtue of 'being there.'
Of course, there could be a killer UFO fleet hiding in its tail, or the cyanide molecules in its tail might kill us all (that's what they said about Haley's in the 19th century), or we could undergo a Stephen King scenario like "Maximum Overdrive," but hey.... if you want to search for doom scenarios... it won't take too much effort to find one.
I've heard NASA has observed Elenin many times more than other comets. Is this true, and is NASA playing this comet down?
NASA regularly detects, tracks and characterizes asteroids and comets passing relatively close to Earth using both ground- and space-based telescopes. The Near-Earth Object Observations Program, commonly called "Spaceguard," discovers these objects, characterizes a subset of them and predicts their paths to determine if any could be potentially hazardous to our planet. For more information, visit the NASA-JPL Near Earth objects site at neo.jpl.nasa.gov... .
However, neither NASA nor JPL is in the business of actively observing Elenin or any other comet. Most of the posted observations are made by amateur astronomers around the world. Since Elenin has had so much publicity, it naturally has attracted more observers.

I don't understand why everyone is still focused on Elenin, and yet Asteroid YU55 is getting little to no attention. YU55 is going to pass between the earth and the moon's orbit from November 9th to 11th, with its closest approach being about 325,000 kilometers (201,700 miles) from earth, which is EXTREMELY close. Nasa says it wont hit us, but the slightest change in YU55's orbit could cause it to impact Earth. This ain't no little comet either, YU55 is 1,300 feet (400 meters) in diameter. If it were to hit the Earth, it could kill millions of people easily, the reality would probably be much worse.
Im not trying to scare anybody, and I'm not saying its going to hit Earth, I just don't understand how this Asteroid, that has a much better chance of hitting us, gets nowhere near the attention that Elenin gets.

yet one of the stereo cameras was being rolled daily to observe Elenin. Seems like a lot of effort for such an insignificant comet. Does any one know if this is standard procedure?
"This comet may not put on a great show. Just as certainly, it will not cause any disruptions here on Earth. But there is a cause to marvel," said Yeomans. "This intrepid little traveler will offer astronomers a chance to study a relatively young comet that came here from well beyond our solar system's planetary region. After a short while, it will be headed back out again, and we will not see or hear from Elenin for thousands of years. That's pretty cool."

Hang on. I want it to be known that I neither endorse nor refute assertions about this comet. I accept scientific norms and statistically weight data; but one never knows anymore just how ignorant our scientific community can be at times.
