Greetings from Ideasarebulletproof!

I'd like to start by saying this is my first thread. Actually it's my first thread ever on a forum, I may be clumsy but you'll just have to bear with me lol.

I wanted to start off with a little food for thought, I'm not sure if anyone else has posted anything about this or not, so if they have I apologize. The theory I generally lean towards in regards to "ghosts", is in relation to multiple dimensions, ever since I saw Carl Sagan explaining how little 2 dimensional people would see us 3 dimensional people. His explanation is basically this: If you were living in a 2 dimensional world, you would move left, right, forward and backward, you would have no up or down. He showed this with having little shapes cut out of paper on a table, moving around in their little 2 dimensional land. He then talked about what would happen if a 3 dimensional entity came up to one of the 2 dimensional entities. He showed this as an apple, if the apple moved through their 2 dimensional plane, the 2 dimensional entity would only see a very thin "cross hatch" of the apple, it would start out as a single point in space, gradually getting wider as the apple passed through the 2 dimensional space, then it would start to recede again to a single point, before vanishing into thin air after it left.

Now this is fairly easy for us to imaging because our minds are capable of perceiving 2 dimensions, and 3 dimensions. But imagine if you will, what it may look like to us if a 4 dimensional entity were to travel through our plane of dimension? What would we see? What would a "cross hatch" of a 4 dimensional entity consist of?
This is where my feeling is when I think about "ghosts", perhaps they are an entity from some 4th, or 5th or 6th etc. dimension, passing through our 3 dimensional plane. Not to offend anyone but that has more evidence for it than long dead relatives in spirit form jiggling our doorknobs. But it also opens up another question, what happens to our consciousness when we die? It's been said that energy is neither created nor destroyed, Perhaps our conscious 'energy' as it were, can travel through dimensions, so in a way maybe it is a family member, just not in the form most people think it is.

Anywho, I don't think talking about myself is at all interesting so my introduction will be something to think about.

Thanks! I have to say ATS is quite the diverse place to browse, lots of nice people, and lots of not-so-nice people as well lol Most political threads are testament to that

Welcome!....I enjoyed what you have written...but don't be surprised if a moderator comes along and moves it to the paranormal forum.......and warns you that the introduction section is only for introductions.

Anyway...I am glad you are here. Many years ago....I was at a friends house that was at the time 125 years old.....in what was supposed to be a dining room.....he made into a meditation room....it had openings from the living room and the hallway.....(no doors)....I was sitting in the middle of the room (it was daytime) and I looked into the hallway...and the ghost of a woman from the 1800's walked down the hallway.....and as she passed by she looked in the room I was in...looked right at me...smiled and then kept walking.....

I would love for something like that to happen to me. But until it does I'm open to all interpretations people have, I should have maybe worded it a little different I may have sounded a bit closed-minded lol but thanks for the heads up about it being moved, I'll get better at this I swear
