You should always be very very careful, when making a point of commenting on the importance of using spell check, that you make sure you don't spell mandatory incorrectly in your subject title.

Schoolboy error, that one.

The problem with spell check is that it will not catch common errors like the use of your instead of you're or are instead of our, there instead of their, and many others. Some of the offenders are long time posters with thousands of posts. These aren't usually just typos.
Spelling is the only problem. Sometimes phrasing is so bad that it is impossible to untangle it to understand what is being said.

Apart from the obvious flaws in your post and the fact you are obviously a troll. Which English Dictionary are we supposed to base this on... The original Queens English?, American, Canadian, South African, Austrailian, New Zealand,.

Please do tell because they are all quite different.

I use the Australian one, personally, as I am from there.

Why would you have an issue using your own English?

People don't but language evolves and the use of English changes every day, the dictionary is more of a history book than it is a reference for modern day English. Freedom of expression and language is something special, non conformaty to the rules of the language is not something that should be resisted as it hinders self expression and the evolution of the language. Shakespear is pure English but it doesn't make sense now really does it?

What are you talking about? I was taught to spell it that way at school.

Fanny means "vagina" in the UK, it means Ass or "bum region" in the US.

When I was a kid and taught how to spell "colour", google didn't exist...

Good catch. I'd star you if I could.

Spell check definitely has it's limits.

Although, I am pretty dependent on it.

I'm calculator dependent as well.
I can't do simple math much less complex math in my head anymore.

I just want to thank all for the warm welcome and might I add we have some very observant people her. Great spelling from one who can't spell mandatory or manadatory for that matter.

Welcome to the mad house.

Goggle chrome has a spell checker built in, but it is not really effective at times when looking for a specific word. The google search engine has a great spell checker as you can use associated terms to find the right spelling.

Here's a guide to setting up your avatar.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

You'll have to resize the pic to 170x240 in order for it to fit right. I noticed the one in your album is at the original size and won't quite fit right. Do a screen capture of my post with the pic, crop out the rest and save it, then download it to your pics account. That should work.

At one time, learning to spell was mandatory in public schools.

I like that idea better than being forced to have a computer make up for the failure to learn to spell.
