Then our brains should have continued to grow in size and power? why would they have developed continuously larger and smarter and then just stopped advancing in size and strength?

What I've proposed--an alternative to the Ancient Astronauts/Aliens Theory--is that there was once a global civilization of respectable technology. They destroyed themselves, or at least a cataclysm destroyed them. Civilizations had to rebuild from the ground up, after 99% of the population was exterminated. The 1% or so of survivors became, for all practical naming conventions, Cavemen. A few hi-techers managed to survive the apocalypse via underground bomb shelters. They eventually reclaimed the surface of the planet and re-organized the barbaric savages into budding, independent civilizations. To these brutes, the hi-techers were revered as Gods. This scenario did not take place in one night, but probably across centuries or even millennia.
If it actually did happen, why keep it hidden? Because mankind is on the brink of Repeating It. More to the point, whatever became of the redheaded Giants? If they're not extinct, then their de-evolved descendants are running around in rural regions of the world under the names Sasquatch, Yeti, Bigfoot, or just plain "Wildmen."
If we don't change our ways, that's what's going to happen to Our descendants, provided the Earth isn't nuclear- sterilized of All life.

The Great Pyramid is all stone blocks, but going back to the earliest records of it it was covered with outer casing stones which gave it a very smooth, glossy and sophisticated look with inscriptions in these stones. (Well, depending on the sources, one speculates it was just graffiti--We'll never know because the stones were stripped, grounded, and used to build mosques!). Oddly enough these simple constructs have withstood the test of time.
Originally posted by CaptainLJBI can't over-emphasize enough that our planet is mostly covered with water. Could we comb the ocean bottom I'm sure we'd find some Really interesting constructs on par with the great Egyptian works. Case in point being the Japanese pyramids which everyone's been trying to debunk as being "natural formations." Continents can sink. Things can be swept away.
Exactly and destroys itself again and again and again, imo, because modern humans have only been around for about 200,000 years, our written history is but a fraction of that time, the earth is 4,500,000,000 years old and so what do we really know about who and what that may have arisen and fallen and was erased long before modern humans arrived?...Not much...

This could mean that intelligence pushes a species forward but also destroys it too.

Well, I guess everything I've read has been in error...and your sources are absolutely correct.
(P.S. Can you switch to a different avatar? Most of my relatives died from heart attacks and every time I see that thing it just creeps me out!).
At completion, the Great Pyramid was surfaced by white "casing stones" – slant-faced, but flat-topped, blocks of highly polished white limestone. These were carefully cut to what is approximately a face slope with a seked of 5½ palms to give the required dimensions. Visibly, all that remains is the underlying stepped core structure seen today. In AD 1300, a massive earthquake loosened many of the outer casing stones, which were then carted away by Bahri Sultan An-Nasir Nasir-ad-Din al-Hasan in 1356 to build mosques and fortresses in nearby Cairo. The stones can still be seen as parts of these structures. Later explorers reported massive piles of rubble at the base of the pyramids left over from the continuing collapse of the casing stones, which were subsequently cleared away during continuing excavations of the site. Nevertheless, a few of the casing stones from the lowest course can be seen to this day in situ around the base of the Great Pyramid, and display the same workmanship and precision as has been reported for centuries.

The information I've presented comes from many different sources. I take no credit for any of them. I'm just a researcher. Honestly, I'm Not claiming they're 100% true. Undoubtedly there are hoaxes and just plain badly dated items. What I am saying is that they're not 100% false.

I'm just not sure how you come up with the again again again thing...
Did the dinos come back again again again? You keep suggesting that humans are stuck in some kind of evolutionary freeze that reach some intelligent critical point over and over , and that is impossible. We will come and go and that will be the end of it....not a skipping record..
Why do you think we are so special?
