Federal Judge Trows Out Obama Drilling Rules: (again-stopping the Anti-American Way)

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A judge on Friday threw out Obama administration rules that sought to slow down expedited environmental review of oil and gas drilling on federal land. The ruling reinstates Bush-era expedited oil and gas drilling under provisions called categorical exclusions on federal lands nationwide.

The government argued that oil and gas companies had no case because they didn't show how the new rules, implemented by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and U.S. Forest Service last year, had created delays and added to the cost of drilling.

Judge Freudenthal rejected that argument. "Western Energy has demonstrated through its members recognizable injury," she said. "Those injuries are supported by the administrative record."

Seriously. I heard RUSH the other day and he asked a very good question-that I will poise to you:

If you were hell bent on ruining the USA, what would you do differently that what Obama has done with his policies and actions since taking the POTUS that would do more damage than he has done?

Anyway, this was a late Friday news release but one that shouldn't be overlooked-by any means. We (as a country) need to establish our independence from other countries and their oil.

Excellent question, I don't think there is anyone who could plot most of there life to dismantle the U.S. that could do a better job than this administration. I think to be fair though we could say the same of the Bush administration as well, clearly showing there is no difference between the left and the right when it comes to ruining the country.

To be honest our whole political system from the house to the senate is BS and you sit here blaming Obama... for what?

What he did was right regarding deep water drilling (especially after the BP fiasco) and there is a lot of proof that the oil companies have NOT found a safe way to do it.

How is it unamerican when the companies who drill on our shore are not even American and have not even proven themselves to give a crap about anything but profits?

It's a bunch of crap and you know what, Obama was right.

He's wrong on a lot of things, but this stuff he wasn't.

You remember that when Rush came out (like 3 weeks ago) and said that it wasn't really hot out because the heat index is a government made up number to scare people into believing in global warming?

C'mon... and you STILL quote him after THAT?

First of all, try proving what Rush said was false. The heat index only gives you a reading on what it 'SUPPOSED TO FEEL LIKE' not what the actual temperature is. It is a' made Up' scale' from a government that continually makes stuff up to justify some new tax or regulation for the control of the citizens!

This also is about ONSHORE drilling. When was the last time you heard of an on shore drilling spill of the magnitude your speaking of? I would be surprised if you could find one that had to do with a drilling rig. Maybe a pipeline but not the drilling process in and of itself!

Well, reading the article told very little of the story or details. The OP jumping on the "slam Obama" bandwagon over any news story is ridiculous.

From my understanding, The old administration set up rules to allow fast-tracking of oil drilling in certain circumstances. from what I can understand, it made sense in some circumstances, but as the article pointed out, 97% of the 3000 new wells drilled in Wyoming from 2007 to 2010 were fast tracked. 97% getting a pass and on the cheap tells me, maybe the old rules need to be checked. This was the one example given in the article, and just my speculative opinion since so few details are given. T
here is NO Way to judge what is right or wrong here in this story.

Anyone throwing out arm chair opinions here, looks foolish.

When JFK got shot and the killers protected democracy died and the oligarchy took over. Now America is run by Israel, the corporations and the black projects. I would have liked to see him stand up a lot more than he has, but when you cannot trust your own security and have to watch your back it would compromise anyone.

That is a great point, it is suppose to be the role of government to define the laws that the judicial system follows. The legal system is a growing mess of complexity, corruption and money driven debate. At the core of the legal system there is a lot of wisdom, responsibility and common sense but with issues like 9/11, GFC and all or nothing massive sized bills passed by congress some rot is setting in. The law of the land is moving away from justice and towards power.

The biggest issue I see is a lack of social responsibility for corporations. It does give me a bit more respect for Obama seeing that he has been trying to establish this. It is sad that the system does not want to listen, one way or another the message will eventually sink in.
