The only other category that I may add, and its a difficult one to put in the form of a survey question/category, possibly something like "Stance on civil liberties".

Ron Paul was possibly the only Republican to oppose the "Patriot Act" and the National ID card. He is vehemently opposed to the TSA's naked body scanners and illegal groping.

Nothing new!!!! The Ames Straw Poll Party has been going on since 1979!!!! It's a party and always has been. It is what you make of it. It's just one act in our nation's Political 3 ring circus.

How about a poll regarding the influence of Big Labor's $2.2 billion in check writing to Dem Candidates in the 2008 and 2010 elections?

Big Labor outspent all other interest groups combined just so they can stay relevant and so they can continue to marginalize the middle class into oblivion and into total dependence on the Federal Govt. tit.

2012 Election: The ATS Republican Straw Poll (fixed)
I thought this was going to be a counter thread accusing the poll of being fixed.

I chose Michele Bachman because I believe she is totally unelectable. This choice would give the liberals and libertarians a walk in the park on election day. There was no place on the form for explaining why people chose the candidate that they did. Such a poll would likely be very enlightening.

First, my first ATS live experience was an eye opener. "Above Top Secret" has some very intelligent and witty people working behind the scenes.

Second, the live chat that accompanied the ATS Live radio was filled with a fun group of people, and I look forward to more intellectual stimulation.

Third, these polls rock! Even though I do not always fall on the majority side, I find the polling data to be an awesome addition to the whole "ATS" experience.

Finally, anyone of these people are better than Obama. We just need to find one that can beat him.

Lol vote is in... I will say though we all know who ATS is going to pick.. that's pretty well a no brainer..

Incidentally though.. Bachman won the Aimes straw poll... She's from Iowa so I really saw that coming..

Ron Paul came in second by what like 150 votes?

I can't make myself vote AGAINST anyone, even Obama. That's just the difference in replacing a carpet with a rug.

I have to find someone to vote FOR, and none of those are it.

So then, the Republicans are likely to lose my vote AGAIN, for the 6th or 7th time, and this is their last shot at redemption. I haven't got forever to wait for them to find a candidate to field who is FOR the people, rather than just AGAINST the Democrats (who also have no one to field who is FOR the People - they Are just AGAINST the Republicans).

Piss on 'em all - it's high time to take another direction - the one these two "sides" are taking us in is the Road to Ruin.

Where's the "They're all batsh*t crazy" option?

Granted, I'd choose Paul over any of those wack jobs, but I'll still vote for Obama if Paul doesn't make it.

I am a Ron Paul Fan but this time I am going for Herman Cain.
He and I are so on the same page.
Too bad he is getting the msm smother treatment even more than Ron and That's going some.
My only issue with him is his past bout with cancer.

This poll is kind of useless, I think it's obvious that people who use ATS are smart enough to choose Ron Paul, so we already know the poll results. Though it would be funny if Rick Perry wins this.

I gotta admit, I'm surprised after reading so many of your posts, that you don't support RP. Is it because you're skeptical that he's sincere?

Well i'm not American but i must urge my US brothers and sisters...

....Vote Ron Paul.

There is no alternative.

God help us all if you vote in another republicrat elite appointee.

I know, what about the elite appointee's "voted into power" in the UK, indeed, but we are not a global superpower with a global reserve currency.
We don't have a Ron Paul to rally around, god i wish we did.

You do.

The problem in the US is the media, who seem to think they have the right decide who will win even before a vote has been cast....hmmmm i smell Murdoch.

You the US public need to get control of the media, enough of this protest rubbish, occupy the buildings and call them out for their blatant lies and propaganda.

Damn i'm ranting again...Aaaarrrrggghhhh.

Cosmic...

Well I think that Ron Paul is quite electable if people vote for him...

Wouldn't you say?

Don't you guys remember when we said Obama was unelectable... Man I wish that was true.

Why, is Bachmann unelectable in your opinion? Is it because she speaks the truth and doesn't gloss over her views? Is it because she is a women or ***Gasp*** believes in Christianity? Romney is a Rhino and already implemented a failed healthcare system, but he does act Presidential or his hair, according to some....phsst.
Edwards acted the same way. Maybe because she doesn't have any useless catchy slogans as Obama used and still attempts?
I'll take her no-nonsense straight shooting attitude and answers any day over the generalized poll from people to tell her how to answer, or any candidate for that fact. I like the breathe of fresh air.
