I'm an avid UFO aficionado and even though I don't post enough threads on ATS, I spend most of my time reading what all of you guys have to say about UFOs and the like.

I do have to say, the threads are a great form of entertainment, especially after reading so many posts from users who seem to know so so much about the alien/UFO world. It sure makes my imagination run

However...the fact is...no one here knows anything about aliens. I'm not going to put anyone on the spot here because that's not what ATS is about as we are a community...but there are one too many people here who claim to be UFO experts, going as far as posting threads on alien races? alien technology descriptions? Even correcting people on things couldn't possibly know unless they sat down with a gray for a cup of tea one afternoon. Even the "qualified sources" have nothing more than educated guesses..

I love everything I read here. It gives me great ideas, great theories, and it's overall a fun read. But when people start posting things as facts..that's when the milk turns sour. Lets remember these are theories and opinions. The last thing any one of us wants (I think) is to get corrected or told by someone else that their ideas are wrong. You dont know that, they don't know that so let's take a chill pill and enjoy the site for what it is. Conspiracies and theories.

Peace, guys!

Yeah true enough and exactly why ATS includes this preamble in the Alien UFO forum:

"...dedicated to the discussion of historic and contemporary events related to extraterrestrial encounters, UFO sightings, and speculation about related subjects.

Discussion ... will likely tend to lean in favor of the existence of extraterrestrials...

Members who would seek to refute such theories should be mindful of our tradition of supporting the examination of the extraterrestrial phenomenon...

Replies that make fun or otherwise ridicule and demean those posting honest experiences and/or questions will be removed. "

This keeps it a healthy and civil debate and helps to assure the conversation does not devolve into plain rudeness and name calling.

Your headline is incorrect.
We do know something.
Given that UFOs are something similar to what we discuss in these forums, we "know" that they did not eat us for lunch. We must be careful to add, "...not yet." But it seems safe logic to take something from that observation. That precept would be that they are somewhat interested in us for some reason.

The next rung on building a shaky ladder of understanding is that in allowing us to survive and observing us, they just may be somewhat benevolent toward us. The next rung would actually be a fork in the ladder, (very unusual for a forked ladder to exist, but having envisioned it, I must continue with the image)/ One side would continue straight up with the benevolent angle (pun intended filled with further nice rungs for us). The other would actually angle off into we are being unpassionately observered and being kept as slaves, future biting morsels, etc. In a word, bad, experiences from ET contact.

There are other ladders that exist also, but they must start with some solid, actual evidence and we have that up to our necks with a really decent start with these folks.

I've not mentioned the antics of governments in this because the game plan is owned by the ET's. Governments can only play to their abilities and we must deem them far short of ever having an adequate response ability to intelligent entities that would pay us visits from afar. We never will be their equals in any manner even if we mimick some of their technological abilities with our triangles.

In response to the "We know nothing." headline, I say balderdash. Our governments know exactly where we generally stand in the situation. And we can do if we are calm with our appraisal.

Wow.. Nine flags for somebody giving their opinion on something.

Aren't they like assholes, or something?

I never implied ATSers to be assholes. Based on what I wrote...I'm merely saying there are is quite the lot of people claiming to be experts. I love ATS. If you took it as me insulting this community then you clearly did not read this well enough. It was not my intention.

Wow... a comment adding nothing to the existing thread.

imho the OP nailed it with his 'opinion'

his opinion comes closer to fact than anything i've seen on the aliens and ufo's forum.

truth is, we don't know jack sh*t

I happen to think he's right too, but I thought the flag thingy was for alerting our fellow enthusiasts to some interesting new development on the topic of aliens or yoofaux. I thought the star thingy was for agreeing with folk and giving them praise for their opinion or eloquence.

Have a star OP. No flaggy. Sorry

Your absolutely correct that there isn't any proof positive evidence on Alien activity, but this in no way deters me from looking for it. I've seen a craft that I deem not to be one of ours (Earths). Unless of coarse the military can actually cloak flying orbs in broad daylight over an airport.
Out of all the UFO experiences recorded I only pay attention to a small percentage of them due to the human ability to deceive others. Just like the latest UFO ATS poll suggested: Hoaxers are the biggest threat to the discovery of Aliens.

Forgive my ignorance and on with the thread.

Yes, we know nothing, except that something odd is going on. Some people may know something, but they ain't telling. Most people that say they know something, know nothing, in my opinion.

I myself have seen something unexplainable, but I know not what it was. That's why it's unexplainable. However, I think I know it wasn't one of ours, but I don't know for sure that it was one of their's either. So who knows? It could really have been nothing. But I think it was really quite something, hence my daily visits to this place, in search of an answer, or something.

Tight lines and clear skies, brothers and sisters.

I personally know that I am not expert.....but....don't be so sure.....that there are not aliens from other planets.....right here on earth now.....and that maybe some of them may be members on ATS; don't be so sure that some of them don't look human.

I know many may get annoyed at me for saying the above....and I cannot name names (that is up to them).....if you need to flame me go ahead. I really don't care.

I know what I know...and I don't need to prove it to anyone....but...I did give you a clue.

Wrong. Making a blanket statement like that is very ignorant.

I agree with the overall concept of the thread, however when doing the hair splitting, I do find these statements to be a major assumption on your behalf.

Lets take a senario...tonight, you are sitting at home doing your thing. You are then abducted by some aliens...you zip off earth, are brought around the cosmos, meet and talk to a variety of very interesting beings, then after its all said and done, your returned to where you were..

You are left with not a shred of proof, just your experience.

Does that mean you know nothing about it, or that you simply cannot prove your claims.
Abductees are not theorizing, they are accounting their experiences (in theory. heh). So, the wording itself is incorrect...there is no guessing to some, it is not a "I bet there are aliens that look like.."...its a "This is what I seen".

But how do you know what you know? What clue? Why so cryptic? U2U me if necessary, pretty please... Love your av, by the way. I had a Scottish girlfriend once. She was lovely.
