The problem with saying that the military is not a force of good, is tha the military is merely an arm of our government; of our country. If it's not a force of good, then neither are we. If you look at Operation Iraqi Freedom, for example, you see that the military history goes back for a couple decades. The 'war' did not start in 2003. Long before that we had dealings with Saddam and brushes with him that went sour. Clinton and Gore warned us about Saddam, that he was a growing threat to international peace. If you go onto youtube and do a search on it, you should find some videos to watch. IN any case, what you'll see is that the support for these wars had been simmering for years. It's nationwide. 9/11 just cemented in people the desire to act on what had been simmering already. So if you want to be blaming someone, blame everyone.

My own feeling is that we have let our thirst for judgment outrun our budgeting committee. But I in no way make any moral judgment about our servicemen or the war itself. (I think it's just.)

While I might think it's a just war, I don't think it pays for itself.

So learn to filter out things you dont like with your brain and think for yourself?

You're still missing the point - what I'm saying is, I wish that the C2C hosts were more intelligent and not blinded by their patriotic dogma. They're not gonna misinform me.

Of course, I've heard Fox News owns them now so, doesn't surprise me that they are such flag-wavers.

Our government does not represent us though. Sure, in theory, we 'vote' them in, but the powers that be are smart enough to know how easy it is to make us surrender our freedom of choice and not even be aware of it. Look at the scene today, we have only two parties essentially, there are others, but they are purposely marginalized and have almost no chance of winning even though theoretically people could vote them, until people stop believing that the choice between Democrat and Republican is a choice at all (it's not).

As for the Saddam thing, did you know that Desert Storm had been planned since at least 1980? It's not about Saddam being dangerous, it's about oil. It's economics. You know how I know that? Because the book Entropy by Jeremy Rifkin, which was released in 1980, and thus probably written in the 1970s, says that.

Not that Saddam was an angel or anything. But if the Iraqi people really hated him that much, they would have overthrown him themselves. A tyrant can only rule if the people permit him to do so, barring them acquiring some kind of comic-book like 'wonderweapon' or something they could use to blackmail their opponents. Otherwise if the people really hate their government enough they can overthrow them and put in new people; it's happened countless times in history. If the war in Iraq was really about protecting Americans and other nations, why don't we go declare war on Zimbabwe or North Korea?

I stopped listening when Art stopped doing the show live! I didn't always agree with his opinions nor his guests but at least it was interesting. Like others have said, if I wanted to listen to commercials I'd watch the shopping channels!

Yes the commercials are WAY too long. I think they take up nearly as much time as the show itself.

What we need are arab leaders with as much personality as saddam that can manhandle their citizens into a psuedo-peace when necessary but in the same process isn't anti-israel and isn't going to gas a bunch of innocent people because he's paranoid that there're spies or subverters or rebels within their numbers. Arabs need leaders who're strong but not antagonistic to the rest of the world. By not being antagonistic, perhaps they won't be as paranoid. But maybe what I'm asking for is too much. Maybe paranoia and strong leadership go hand in hand. And if there's no way to run an arab state without a strong personality, then WTF are they going to do?

And in reference to somebody who replied to me and said "If Saddam really was that bad then let his own people overthrow him..."

Thing is, Saddam was already becoming dangerous not just to his own people but everyone else. He had already been involved in an exchange with Iran. Yes, IRAN. He even later tried for Kuwait an captured it. If he had been allowed to continue, he was not far from the saudi oil fields. His anti-israel rhetoric was real; he launched scuds to Israel during the Gulf War. There was some evidence saying he was supporting terrorism against Israel. We were worried what he would do if he had WMD. He had killed his own people and shown us already that he was a paranoid psychopath that couldn't restrain himself. The list is long. He did not have benefit of the doubt. So when it came time to make a choice in 2003, they chose to attack. While I think it was a bad choice, I do not blame them. Hindsight is 20/20. So I'm looking at it from biased standpoint.

This an interesting read and shows how multi-faceted these wars are (so many opinions):

Yeah, Art was the epitomy of a good host. George is "almost" to nice to anybody. You just watched a UFO lift a tank in the air, dump out the soldiers and shoot bullets from the tank on it's way up to the ship?

George will say "Oh my goodness, will wonders never stop to amaze us. next caller"

Art would have said. "OK must be open line nite,we get that sstuff sometimes, next caller"

I used to enjoy the show....many years ago.

Yeah, your right. Its like an MSM sanctioned, MSM sterilized and MSM canned "thrill seeker" show.

But the thrill is gone. The thrill is gone away.

They NEVER have anything at all edgy. Its always the same old boring stuff. Bigfoot (and his prostate
), remote viewers , fortune teller/psychics, people that think they are vampires, and the like.

I thing back when Art has his "visitation", he was instructed to "tone it down".

The show I REALLY miss was Chuck Harders "For the People". That was interesting. I think Chucks health finally got too much for him. Wonderful man. Feds and IRS hated him.

Personally, I find that the show has bent a bit towards the mainstream... which is disappointing. But I don't see the militarism and I have no problem with nationalism whatsoever.

What can I say... I like red meats, fat ceegars, cold beer, subjects of the paranormal and being an American.

My problem with nationalism is that imo it's wrong to consider people of your own nation more important than other people. It's basically the same conceptually as racism and it's one of the main reasons war exists. There's no logical reason to consider Americans more important than Europeans or Africans or whatever. At least if you're talking about your family and putting them first it makes sense based on the fact they are biologically programmed to care more about you.

With that said, there's nothing wrong with loving your country. I just don't think any country is worth dying or killing for. Culture is great and all but in the end it's a material thing.
really?
is your wife your mother your father your children equally as important as everyone else to you? of course not dont be ridiculous. True nationalism is an extended family, a nation of brothers and sisters. of course they are more important to their extended national family than complete strangers.

they arent really more or less important, their needs are just lower on the chain than the needs and welfare of my brothers and sisters across america and abroad.

if your child is starving and a child across the world is starving who are you going to feed first? your logic ignores reality.

When Ian rubs his stink on c2c, I feel like I need a shower!

Ian Punnett is a *snip* brain washed idiot. How in world did they pick him for the show is beyond me, his stupid Howard Wasdin Seal Team Six propaganda is BS and everything else about him sucks. Wasdin was calling conspiracy theorist morons on live radio while Ian was kissing his ass.

Ian if you read these forums please go away and crawl back into that hole where you belong.

Thankfully since c2c is going down in prostate flames, I'm finding new conspiracy shows on the internet that are way better than c2c.

You are naive. Wars are fought to give people money and power.

The Human Species has no capability to stop this human nature. There is no divine Judge to stop humans from killing for their own benefit.

This is why everyone on the planet created chemical weapons....to keep the other side from thinking about coming on over to kill them.

April 2012 all chemical weapons are supposed to be destroyed. If they are.....we'll get back to killing more.

I stopped listening to coast to coast about a year now, luckily I came across Red Ice Radio around the same time. The host Henrik Palmgren is much more knowledge than George 'Snoory.' Also, in my opinion at least - Hendrik seems to always ask the right questions. Anyone can listen to the first hour going back 2 years, there are also some shows where both hours are free. No commercials, and you can either stream or download.

The following if from the 'About Us' section of www.redicecreations.com...

"Red Ice is a news website and radio program, hosted by founder, filmmaker and researcher Henrik Palmgren. Additionally, we produce Red Ice TV, webcasts, music, videos and films. Red Ice Creations is headquartered on the west coast of Sweden, Scandinavia and is operated by Henrik Palmgren, Fredrik Palmgren, Lana Lokteff and Elizabeth Leafloor.

Red Ice Radio is an independent, thought provoking online radio and TV program, dedicated to bringing a vast number of research topics to you attention. We feature news and opinion, divergent from the beaten path. This is nothing for the stuck conformist or closed- minded but for those ready and willing to go somewhere new, for those living on the fringe. This is media for the fore-front. We feature interviews with some of the most groundbreaking authors, filmmakers, bloggers and thinkers in the world.

Funny, I was listing to the show last night and when he cut the caller off at the knee's on that call I was like ?????? what did he just say to that caller???

He dismissed the caller off the cuff without really listening to what he had to say, proof , suspition or whatever ..... even though the goverment lies about pretty much EVERYTHING they say. Ian acknowledged they lie but surely not about something like this .......OMFG I was thinking .... EXACLY about crap like this.

Try not to listen to him but the topic was interesting .... and I also agree with others here Goerge seems to be a puppet at times for people selling a book or whatever.

C2C better look at the commercial schedule soon becouse it more like the shopping network and I aint doing that!!!

Much better content on the internet these days and its free to stream, unlike there pay to listen model .....

I dunno, we never really had the show in the UK but can't they be dismissive of some theories and still be theorists?

I have contempt for the "9/11 Truth Movement" because I honestly believe it's too much for some to take in that other people could attack their country in such a blatant way to create maximum fear. Doesn't mean I don't believe or buy into other theories. I also support the military because I've seen and heard horror stories and had old school friends awarded with the highest honours for bravery after putting their lives on the line to protect others with some getting those awards posthumously. Also I have family who were in the military from WW2 until the early 80s and my girlfriend comes from a military family too.

The only times I don't support military are when a handful do illegal or immoral things while on duty and the only times I don't support government are when they do things wrong to screw over the little people as the last UK government did before the Conservatives came back into power.

As a Brit, I've gotten sick now and then of the US national pride when it gets too boastful but then again, wouldn't ANY country get like that? Having pride in your country of birth is a good thing isn't it?

CTC AM is a joke. I remember listening about web bot and astrology. Noory seems to add in any guest and pretends to find interest in anything, no matter how absurd.

i'm with yeh...it seems like every other show, they have on some type of self proclaimed "dream specialist" or "psychic". i'm so sick of these people...vagueness and their misuse of contextual english is mind numbing.
even FOX NEWS is a step up, but not by much.
