Four people were killed and a dozen injured after a stage collapsed during a storm Saturday night at the Indiana State Fair, where the country group Sugarland was set to perform, the Indianapolis Star and WTHR reported.
Concertgoers were helping hold up parts of the collapsed stage that fell into the standing area below to help anyone who might be trapped, eyewitnesses said.
INDIANAPOLIS -- The names of the five persons killed in the Indiana State Fair stage collapse Saturday night were released Sunday morning.
The four who died at the scene are Tammy Vandam, 42, Wanatah, Ind.; Glenn Goodrich, 49, Indianapolis; Alina Bigjohny, 23 Fort Wayne; Christina Santiago, 29, Chicago. Nathan Byrd, 51, Indianapolis, died at Methodist Hospital Sunday morning.
